Utah vs. UCLA Predictions

At the start of the season, the Bruins weren’t even ranked. However, thanks to their impressive performances against mid-majors Coastal Carolina and San Diego State, as well as a commanding win over FCS NC Central, they’ve climbed their way to No. 22.

A significant contributor to this rise is a true freshman and five-star recruit QB Dante Moore. Even though he’s shown commendable efficiency, ranking 12th in the country for QBR, we haven’t yet seen the full extent of his abilities.

This is mainly because he’s been limited to an average of 17 passes per game. The reason? The outstanding play from the backfield duo of TJ Harden and Carson Steele. Harden boasts an average of 8.4 yards per carry, while Steele is not far behind with 6.4 yards.

On the other hand, despite the absence of their third-year starting quarterback Cam Rising, the PAC-12 champions have shown incredible tenacity. If Rising remains sidelined, it’s expected that Nate Johnson will step in as quarterback.

While Johnson might not rival Rising in passing efficiency, he’s proven his capacity to make plays with his feet. Yet, as offensively gifted as these teams are, it’s their top ten defenses that have truly shone. Anticipate a rare Pac-12 defensive showdown in their upcoming match.
