Wednesday’s Best Bets stalled out at 1-2, with Devin Vassell’s strong night for the Spurs saving us from an oh-fer. With no NBA on the docket tonight, we are heading straight to the ice for a pair of NHL picks to get off the schneid.

One of them is a fairly straightforward moneyline parlay backing a pair of hockey’s heaviest favorites. The other is a prop that definitely correlates with the parlay.

Whether you intend to fade or follow, here are Thursday’s Best Bets!

The bet: Bruins & Avalanche moneyline parlay
The odds: -119
Where to bet: Caesars Sportsbook
From: Matt Perrault via The Bostonian Vs. The Book podcast

Matt Perrault of The Bostonian Vs. The Book dropped his portion of Tuesday’s Best Bets series, as the Spurs failed to cover against the Pelicans. He’ll look to bounce back with a somewhat unorthodox NHL bet on Thursday, grouping a pair of heavy NHL favorites into a moneyline parlay.

Perrault is taking the Bruins (-280) and Avalanche (-280) in a two-leg parlay that pays out -119 on Caesars Sportsbook. Here’s what he had to say about this best bet:

“The Bruins are at home, desperate for a win, and Ottawa is horrible on the road. … Colorado stays hot tonight against the Devils, who are one of the worst road teams in the NHL.”

To those points, Ottawa is 14-19-3 on the road and New Jersey is 10-24-1-1 away from home. And in three previous Senators-Bruins clashes this year, Boston is 3-0, by a combined score of 8-4.

The Avalanche are fresh off a 9-3 shellacking of Los Angeles on Wednesday. For Thursday, Colorado is looking for revenge against the Devils, who topped the Avs 5-3 in the last meeting (March 8).

If you are backing Perrault’s NHL moneyline parlay, then you can find it for -119 at Caesars Sportsbook.
