The Bostonian vs. The Book has strung together three straight best bet winners thanks to the Knicks and Bulls staying Under 219.5 total points on Monday.

What do the guys have for an encore on Tuesday?

Podcast host Matt Perrault is staying locked into the NBA, taking the Detroit Pistons +14 at the Brooklyn Nets.

“Brooklyn is 8-27-1 ATS at home,” Perrault said on Tuesday’s podcast. “Detroit is 29-17-1 ATS against the Eastern Conference.”

Of course, Brooklyn’s dismal home ATS record came without the services of star PG Kyrie Irving, who will be in the lineup tonight. Perrault doesn’t care about Irving’s presence, pointing to Sunday’s 110-119 home loss to Charlotte as evidence that Brooklyn isn’t as good as the public perceives.

On top of that, Perrault noted that Detroit has covered five straight as a double-digit underdog. What he didn’t note, but you might find interesting, is another trend working in the Pistons’ favor: They’re 15-3 ATS in their last 18 games overall, including 15-1 ATS as an underdog of any price.

We shopped around for the best line, and DraftKings is one of the only places you can still grab Detroit +14 (-110).

Perrault listed two other bets he likes during Tuesday’s Bostonian vs. The Book podcast — both NBA totals. You can listen to the replay on YouTube, Spotify, or Apple Podcasts.

NHL Prop: RW Cam Atkinson (Philadelphia Flyers)

The bet: Under 2.5 total shots (at Minnesota)
The odds: +120
Where to bet: DraftKings Sportsbook
From: Dan Bradley via Tuesday NHL Props

For those who have been following my NHL props recommendations, this one shouldn’t come as a surprise. The philosophy has remained the same all season: Play Cam Atkinson to go Over his shot props at home and Under when the Flyers are on the road. The splits are truly Jekyll-and-Hyde-like.

Atkinson has 119 shots in 34 home games, which pencils out to a perfect 3.5 per contest. Away from Philly, he’s put the puck on net 81 times in 32 contests (or barely 2.5 per game). In those 32 roadies, the 32-year-old veteran has popped three or more shots on goal just 13 times.

Sticking with the Under tonight makes sense because Atkinson is in Minnesota to face the Wild, who have allowed 27.4 shots per game over their last 10.

Philadelphia is playing its fifth straight road game Tuesday, and while Atkinson did record four shots on goal in the opener of the road trip, he failed to do so in each of the last three. Getting Atkinson’s at plus money on this one is an absolute steal.

NBA Prop: SF Saddiq Bey (Detroit Pistons)

The bet: Under 18.5 points (at Brooklyn)
The odds: -115
Where to bet: BetMGM
From: Matt LaMarca via Tuesday NBA Props

Bey is a capable scorer, but this number has gotten out of control. He exploded for 51 points on a night where the Pistons were without stud rookie Cade Cunningham, but he’s scored 14 points or fewer in his past three games.

The Nets are far from a juggernaut defensively, but the Pistons are listed as massive 14-point underdogs. The Pistons would benefit from losing as many games as possible down the stretch – they own a slim two-game lead over the Thunder for the crucial third-worst record in basketball. Because of that, I’m expecting Bey to spend the fourth quarter on the bench instead of the court.

NBA Prop: SF Khris Middleton (Milwaukee Bucks)

The bet: Under 5.5 rebounds
The odds: -130
Where to bet: FanDuel Sportsbook
From: BetPrep Prop of the Day via BetPrep.com

The BetPrep crew failed to extend their winning streak on Monday, as Hawks’ center Clint Capela flew past his rebound total. Undeterred, Tuesday’s BetPrep Prop of the Day is yet another Under in the rebounding department. For this one, look for Bucks’ forward Khris Middleton to fall short of his 5.5 rebounds prop.

Here’s the rationale for this BetPrep Best Bet:

  • Middleton has recorded six-plus rebounds in just three of his last 12 games (25%) against a team with a winning record.
  • Across his last 21 games, Middleton has posted six-plus rebounds only six times. That’s a 29% success rate.

In addition to that, Middleton went this total in his only meeting with the 76ers this season (5 rebounds on Feb. 17).

You can find Middleton Under 5.5 rebounds at -130 juice on FanDuel Sportsbook.
