About Oklahoma State: The Cowboys had lost five of six games prior to Saturday’s 81-58 thumping of West Virginia as a 3.5-point home favorite. Oklahoma State is 1-2 on the road against ranked teams this season, with the one victory a 61-54 upset of then-No. 1 Baylor as a 14-point underdog. Among Big 12 programs, the Cowboys rank first in steals (9.4 per game), first in blocks (5.2 per contest), and fourth in scoring offense (69.8 ppg). But they’re dead last in 3-point proficiency (30.2%).
About Kansas: The Jayhawks dug themselves out of an early first-half hole Saturday against Oklahoma and eventually escaped with a 71-69 win, never threatening to cover as a 10.5-point home chalk. Despite that close call — and the fact five of its last six wins were by single digits — Kansas moved up two slots in this week’s Associated Press Top 25 poll. Against Big 12 foes, the Jayhawks rank first in scoring offense (79.6 ppg), field-goal shooting (49.7%), and 3-point proficiency (36.3%), along with second in assists (15.8 per game) and third in blocks (4.3 per contest). Kansas is currently No. 8 in the NCAA’s NET rankings, suggesting coach Bill Self’s squad could be in line for a 2-seed in next month’s NCAA Tournament.
What’s At Stake: The battle between Kansas and Baylor for the Big 12 regular-season title has been a punch-counterpunch affair since conference play began. The Jayhawks (9-2) currently have a half-game lead over the Bears with seven league games remaining (six for Baylor). Kansas pummeled Baylor 83-59 nine days ago, and the squads will meet again in Waco, Texas, on Feb. 26. Oklahoma State, which is tied for sixth in the Big 12, isn’t eligible for this year’s NCAA Tournament play because of off-court violations.

Oklahoma State guard Isaac Likekele posted his only double-double of the season against Kansas back on Jan. 4, finishing with a team-high 16 points and 12 rebounds. For the season, the 6-foot-5 senior is averaging just 7.6 points per game, but he leads the Cowboys in rebounds (5.8 per game) and assists (3.7 per game).
Kansas guard Christian Braun, who had 18 points, eight rebounds and three blocks in Saturday’s comeback win over Oklahoma, has scored in double figures in eight consecutive games. The 6-foot-6 junior had 15 points, six rebounds and six assists against OSU last month. He ranks second on the team in scoring (15.3 ppg) and assists (3.1), and third in rebounding (5.8).
