Warriors Seek Title, Curry Eyes MVP
This could be it. The Warriors have a chance to claim their fourth NBA Championship in seven years. Will they get the job done in Boston, or will we see a Game 7 on Sunday? Either way, we should be in for an exhilarating Game 6 with tension through the roof.
Holding a 3-2 series lead, Golden State currently stands at -390 to take home the title. Boston’s series price is +310 heading into Game 6. If we translate those odds into probabilities, it suggests the Warriors have a 79.59% chance to win the NBA Finals.
If the Warriors win the championship, then there’s an excellent chance Stephen Curry is named NBA Finals MVP. Here are those odds heading into Game 6:
- Stephen Curry -390
- Jayson Tatum +375
- Andrew Wiggins +1600
- Jaylen Brown +2200
The odds tell a straightforward story: If Golden State wins, Curry should be the MVP. Tatum should be the MVP if Boston comes back to win the series. Lastly, Andrew Wiggins has improved his odds for Finals MVP, but he’s still not a serious candidate from a bookmaker’s perspective.

Injury Report
Andre Iguodala (knee) and Otto Porter Jr. (foot) are questionable. They were both listed as questionable in Game 5 but activated prior to the game. Porter started and saw 15 minutes while Iguodala saw 4 minutes off the bench. Barring news of a setback, we should expect a similar situation for Game 6.
Robert Williams (knee) is questionable. Has Williams been listed as questionable throughout most of the playoffs? Yes. Has he looked good in the NBA Finals despite that/ Also yes. Williams saw 30 minutes despite his questionable status in Game 5. Similar playing time is expected in Game 6 with the Celtics season on the line.

Celtics Vs Warriors Game 6 Prediction
This has been a strange series, and Game 5 amplified that when the Warriors pulled out a 10-point victory despite Curry not making a three-pointer. So what now?
The total has been hovering between 214 and 213 for most of this series. Here’s how the over/under has played out across those five games:
- Game 1: Over 214
- Game 2: Under 213.5
- Game 3: Over 214.5
- Game 4: Under 213.5
- Game 5: Under 211
Thanks to two straight Unders, the total has fallen to 210. Is that an overreaction (no pun intended)? I really think so.
Turnovers and missed free throws plagued the Celtics in Game 5. It also ruined any potential for Over 211.5 to cash.
Boston had the third-best free throw percentage in the NBA this season. I highly doubt their Game 5 struggles at the line will become the new normal. The Celtics should come out with plenty of energy while trying to fend off elimination in front of their home crowd. That should help fuel the Over.
Golden State scored 104 points in Game 5 despite a terrible shooting night from Curry. The Warriors’ supporting cast is starting to heat up, and it’s hard to believe that Curry will have two clunkers in a row. That serves as even more fuel to the fire known as Over 210 total points.
The pick: Celtics-Warriors Over 210
