Blachowicz vs Teixeira Betting Action

UPDATE NOON ET SATURDAY: BetMGM Nevada — meaning BetMGM’s books up and down Las Vegas Boulevard — opened Blachowicz -260 and stretched to -280, with Teixeira now a +230 underdog.

“So far, this a very lightly bet card,” BetMGM Nevada’s Scott Shelton said. “Tickets 2/1 on Teixeira, money dead even, though. Parlays all running to the favorite. The book will need the ‘dog, unless a big favorite on the card gets taken out earlier.”

Previous Blachowicz vs Teixeira Odds Updates

UPDATE 1:30 P.M. ET THURSDAY: Belt-holder Blachowicz opened as a -260 favorite at Circa Sports, with Teixeira a +220 underdog. Kalikas now has the main event at Blachowicz -285/Teixeira +240.

“There’s not a lot of heavy straight action on either side. People think the line is just about right,” Kalikas said. “But parlay action on the favorite is driving the line up. We’ll definitely need Teixeira to pull off the win. Teixeira deserves to be in this spot, but I don’t think people are giving him much of a chance.”

Yan vs Sandhagen Betting Action

UPDATE NOON ET SATURDAY: BetMGM Nevada opened Petr Yan at -230 and stretched out to -250. But this moneyline has since shortened to Yan -210/Cory Sandhagen +170.

“Tickets are all Sandhagen, 3/1, and money all Sandhagen too,” BetMGM Nevada’s Scott Shelton said. “But parlays are 2/1 tickets and money on the favorite.”

Previous Yan vs Sandhagen Odds Updates

UPDATE 1:30 P.M. ET THURSDAY: While calculating UFC 267 odds, Kalikas found most compelling this bantamweight interim title bout. Circa opened the fight at Petr Yan -220/Cory Sandhagen +190 and has shifted slightly toward the underdog, now at Yan -205/Sandhagen +177.

“Man, this is a fantastic fight,” Kalikas said. “We are kind of a low market number. Others are around -220 on Yan. But honestly, we haven’t had sharp action on the favorite yet to justify moving up. There is small sharp action on the underdog.

“This is definitely gonna be an extremely competitive fight — one of the best bantamweight fights we’ve seen in a long time. We’re sitting in a good spot now, but we’ll need Sandhagen. The parlays will come in on Yan, and he’s fantastic. But styles make fights, and this will be a great fight.”

Makhachev vs Hooker Betting Action

UPDATE NOON ET SATURDAY: The popular Islam Makhachev opened a heavy -650 favorite to Dan Hooker’s +450, and the moneyline stuck there all week. Today, though, it’s down a touch to Makhachev -600/Hooker +425.

“All the straight-bet money is on the ‘dog, almost nothing on the favorite,” BetMGM Nevada’s Scott Shelton said, noting bettors unwillingness to swallow the hefty minus money. But as with many favorites on this card, Makhachev is seeing the parlay action, no surprise.

“Parlays are over 2/1 tickets and money on the favorite.”

Previous Makhachev vs Hooker Odds Updates

UPDATE 1:30 P.M. ET THURSDAY: Circa Sports opened this lightweight contest with Islam Makhachev a hefty -660 chalk to Dan Hooker’s big ‘dog price of +500. And it’s now out to Makhachev -680/Hooker +515.

“This one is everybody’s favorite parlay. Makhachev is everybody’s lock of the week,” Kalikas said. “Hooker is popular, but again, styles make fights. And Makhachev is the next closest thing right now, the heir to the thrown of Khabib Nurmagomedov. Makhachev is world-class. We’ll need Hooker to pull a significant upset to bust up the parlays.”

Jingliang vs Chimaev Betting Action

UPDATE 1:30 P.M. ET THURSDAY: In a main-card welterweight bout, Khamzat Chimaev has already moved out from solid -400 chalk to -540 at Circa Sports. Correspondingly, Li Jingliang stretched from +325 to +425.

“The hype around Chimaev is that he’s a future title contender/future champion. This is by far his toughest test, though,” Kalikas said. “But this is another popular parlay play, threading Chimaev to Makhachev.”

Kalikas noted Chimaev is returning from a rough bout with COVID-19, but stylistically, this is a good matchup for the big favorite. And bettors won’t back off the chalk here or elsewhere on the UFC 267 odds board.

“This is going to be a pretty chalky card — but all it takes is one of these guys to go down, and we’ll do OK.”
