At Props.com, we have big plans on changing the way bettors view individual props (hence the name of the site), in terms of finding new and creative angles of game analysis and player projections.
This is especially true with college football, which offers limitless gaming opportunities in the coming months.
Which brings us to this: In advance of Props.com’s substantial launch this week, we wanted to arbitrarily present a cluster of Individual Player Props for the 2021 season, featuring seven preseason stars (in alphabetical order):
Iowa State RB Breece Hall
North Carolina QB Sam Howell
Alabama WR John Metchie III
Ohio State WR Chris Olave
Oklahoma QB Spencer Rattler
Texas A&M RB Isaiah Spiller
Liberty QB Malik Willis
Check back with us in January to see how we did with this prop projection of …
TEXAS A&M RB ISAIAH SPILLER — OVER 1,500 RUSHING YARDS
FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION
1) In 2020, Spiller accrued 1,036 rushing yards in 10 games, for a per-game average of 103.6. To reach the 1,500-yard threshold in this year’s 12-game regular season, Spiller would need to average 125 yards per contest. He eclipsed that mark three times last season against Florida, LSU and South Carolina.
2) Texas A&M could plausibly average more than 30 points per game this season, thus matching the output of last year’s offense that ranked 37th nationally. However, redshirt freshman Haynes King (who won the Aggies’ quarterback job) likely will have difficulty replicating Kellen Mond’s three-season average of 27.3 touchdowns—at least in Year 1. As such, Spiller, who found the end zone nine times in his final seven games last year, should get plenty of touches.
3) Thankfully for A&M—and Spiller in particular—there’s no Georgia, Florida or Kentucky on this year’s slate. All three were strong against the run last year, with Georgia leading the nation in rushing yards allowed). On the flip side, the Aggies get to encounter Kent State in their season opener. In 2020, the Golden Flashes ranked 123rd nationally in rushing defense, allowing a staggering 262 yards per outing.
