This article is designed to help you make more informed NFL betting decisions, especially when it comes to player props.

To give you an added edge, we will utilize projections and analysis from Betprep – a free tool designed and used by sports betting sharps.

Of course, we’ll combine these projections with a dose of human analysis to provide context. At the very least, this will serve as a nice screening tool to start analyzing player props.

Using some of the Betprep functions, we’ll take a look at some of the best NFL player props for the Rams-Seahawks Thursday Night Football matchup of Week 5.

BetPrep Player Prop Projections

Player Line Lean BetPrep Projection
Tyler Lockett 69.5 Rec Yd OVER 69.88 Rec Yd
DK Metcalf 76.5 Rec Yd UNDER 71.39 Rec Yd
Matthew Stafford 305.5 Pass Yd UNDER 278.79 Pass Yd

Tyler Lockett OVER/UNDER 69.5 Receiving Yards

BetPrep Projection: 69.88

— Lockett has exceeded this total in five of his last 19 games. That’s 26.32%.

— Lockett has topped this mark in two of four games this season.

— BetPrep Analyst Brad Feinberg has Lockett OVER 66.5 receiving yards as one of his listed NFL betting plays.

Bottom Line: OVER 69.5 Pass Yards. There’s a good chance that DK Metcalf gets locked up by Rams’ CB Jalen Ramsey. That would lead to more targets (and yards) for Lockett, as the Seahawks will try to keep pace with the high-octane Rams.

DK Metcalf OVER/UNDER 76.5 Receiving Yards

BetPrep Projection: 71.39

— As mentioned above, there’s a chance CB Jalen Ramsey will shadow Metcalf throughout most of this game.

— Metcalf has topped this total in nine of his last 19 games while averaging 78 yards over that span.

— In three games against the Rams last season, Metcalf went for 28, 59, and 96 yards respectively.

Bottom Line: UNDER 76.5 Receiving Yards. There’s a chance Metcalf breaks off a big play or two, but drawing coverage from Ramsey limits those opportunities. Look towards the under.

Matthew Stafford OVER/UNDER 305.5 Passing Yards

BetPrep Projection: 278.79

— Matthew Stafford has topped this total in two of four games with the Rams. He coincidentally is averaging 305.5 yards per game over that span.

— The Seahawks have been generous on defense, most notably allowing Kirk Cousins to throw for 323 yards in Week 4.

— Seattle’s secondary ranks near the bottom in the league according to Pro Football Focus grades.

Bottom Line: UNDER 305.5 Passing Yards. This is a tough one, as Seattle is no stranger to giving up big plays. However, there’s a chance the Rams want to run the ball a little more in this game, as the Seahawks are giving up the second-most ground yards this season. Stafford could throttle it back due to game flow, putting him under this lofty prop total.
