If there was a rollercoaster ride last season, it was the Los Angeles Chargers’ 2022 campaign. Picture this: the Chargers, up 27-0 against the Jaguars in the Wild Card round, only to end up on the wrong side of a 31-30 scoreline. It was a plot twist worthy of a Hollywood movie and enough to leave a lingering sour taste.
Chargers Win Total Prediction 2023: Over 9.5 Wins
Despite the postseason letdown, the Chargers clocked out of the regular season with a solid 10-7 record, all while nursing a laundry list of injuries and managing a positive point differential — having scored seven more points than their opponents, that is.
We can’t deny it: the Chargers showed guts. Rashawn Slater, the impenetrable left tackle, spent most of the year sidelined. Keenan Allen and Mike Williams, both star receivers, missed a whopping 11 games. And let’s not forget their prized quarterback, Justin Herbert, played through what can only be described as an excruciating rib cartilage injury. Despite it all, they not only kept afloat but sailed into the postseason.

Expectations for the upcoming season are, understandably, running high. However, one must keep in mind that the Chargers are in a phase of transition. Kellen Moore, the freshly minted offensive coordinator, is on the block, and while he brings an exciting new dimension to the team, the process of blending into the existing setup might take time. Dreaming of snatching the AFC West title from the Chiefs may still be a tad ambitious.

On a brighter note, the Chargers have bolstered their ranks with the addition of WR Quentin Johnston, a player whose versatility can challenge the most rigid defenses. Yet, it might be Moore who steals the limelight. His stint with the Dallas Cowboys saw him command the league’s top offense in 2021, and he could help elevate Herbert and the Chargers.
