Welcome to the St. Patrick’s Day edition of Best Bets, and we are celebrating by (hopefully) putting some green in your wallet.

After ending up on the wrong side of Wednesday’s double-overtime thriller between Rutgers and Notre Dame, The Bostonian vs. The Book crew has another college basketball side for Thursday’s full slate of March Madness.

On top of that, the BetPrep Prop of the Day returns, aiming for a third straight win. Even though there’s only one NBA game on the schedule, the BetPrep crew managed to find a sneaky-good NBA Prop worth your attention.

With that, let’s dive into Thursday’s Best Bets!

The bet: Arkansas -4.5 (vs. Vermont)
The odds: -110
Where to bet: Caesars Sportsbook
From: Matt Perrault via The Bostonian Vs. The Book Podcast

Matt Perrault of The Bostonian vs. The Book Podcast kicked off the week with back-to-back Best Bet winners, but suffered a gut-punch loss Wednesday on Rutgers, which fell 89-87 as a 1.5-point underdog in a wild, double-overtime thriller. However, Perrault went 3-0 with the other picks he gave out on the podcast, so you might want to tune in to uncover his other bets for Thursday.

As for his Thursday Best Bet, Perrault looks to rebound by rolling with Arkansas (-4.5) over Vermont. “I got it at [Arkansas] -5.5 and now it’s -4.5,” Perrault said. “I think they win by 10.”

Podcast co-host Dave Sharapan offered no opposition to that prediction.

“Are you nuts,” Sharapan said. “I’m not betting against you with that.”

Some additional information on this game, per Props.com’s Patrick Everson: Vermont was seeing 60% of bets and 64% percent of money heading into Thursday. That could explain the line movement to Arkansas -4.5.

If you want to jump on the Razorbacks’ bandwagon with Perrault and Sharapan, you can find Arkansas -4.5 on Caesars Sportsbook at -110 juice.

Perrault listed three other bets he likes during Thursday’s Bostonian vs. The Book podcast — another college basketball side, one college basketball total, and one NHL moneyline. You can listen to the replay on Youtube, Spotify, or Apple Podcasts.

NBA Prop: Detroit PG Cory Joseph

The bet: Under 9.5 points (at Orlando)
The odds: -120
Where to bet: DraftKings
From: BetPrep Prop of the Day via BetPrep.com

The BetPrep crew notched their second straight Best Bet winner with Rudy Gobert going Over 12.5 rebounds on Wednesday. Actually, that’s an understatement: The NBA’s leading rebounder obliterated that total by corralling 20 boards against the Bulls.

BetPrep looks to keep things cooking with its Prop of the Day, this time looking at Pistons’ guard Cory Joseph Under 9.5 points.

Here’s the rationale behind this BetPrep Best Bet:

  • Joseph has scored 10-plus points in just one of his last nine games
  • Joseph has failed to score in double figures in each of his last eight road contests
  • Detroit is coming off Tuesday’s loss at Miami. Here’s why that matters: Joseph has produced 10-plus points just once following his team’s last 10 defeats

Joseph is averaging 8.0 points per game this season, so to hit this prop, he’ll have to beat that average by at least two points.

The guys from The Bostonian vs. The Book want in on this action as well, as both co-signed this best bet on Thursday’s show.

You can find Joseph Under 9.5 points at -120 odds at DraftKings.
