Winnipeg Jets: LW Kyle Connor

The Prop: Score Anytime Goal (at Philadelphia Flyers)
The Odds: +100

Connor is pretty good at hockey. In just 41 games, the forward has 44 points, including 24 goals, with three coming in his last four games. And if you discount his abridged “rookie” season when he put the puck in the net just twice in 20 games, the 25-year-old from Michigan has 153 goals in 326 career games.

Connor has an extremely quick release and excellent hockey sense, as evidenced by his most recent game-winning goal against St. Louis on Saturday:

Meanwhile, the Flyers are … not very good at hockey right now. They just snapped a 13-game losing skid with Saturday’s 4-3 overtime home win over the Kings. In fact, Philadelphia’s last three victories all came in overtime. The last win in regulation? Way back on Dec. 14.

The Flyers’ defense and goaltending has been noticeably bad during this ugly 1-13 stretch — they’ve allowed three or more goals 13 times, including four-plus goals on seven occasions. Expect Connor to exploit Philly’s poor D and once again find the back of the net tonight.

Florida Panthers: LW Mason Marchment

The Prop: Score Anytime Goal (at New York Rangers)
The Odds: +350

Marchment is on fire right now, which is why it’s worth taking a flier on this prop at hefty plus-money odds. The third-year pro has six goals in his last four games — this after lighting the lamp in just two of his first 17 contests.

Marchment is currently playing on Florida’s third line alongside Anton Lundell and Sam Reinhart. Normally, third-line deployment doesn’t yield a lot of scoring chances, but the Panthers aren’t your normal hockey team. The trio has combined for a total of 10 goals and 17 assists in the last four games, with Marchment scoring in each of them.

The Panthers have been absolutely insane in five-on-five scoring, and they’ve put up seven goals in two games against the Rangers this season. Look for Florida to continue its offensive assault Tuesday in New York, with Marchment at the center of the action.

Vegas Golden Knights: RW Evgenii Dadonov

The Prop: 2.5 Shots (vs. Buffalo Sabres)
The Odds: Over +105/Under -135

Dadonov isn’t the first guy most people mention when talking about the Vegas Golden Knights’ dangerous offensive weapons. Heck, he’s not even among the top 10. So why roll with the Over on this NHL prop, especially when Dadonov has tallied just five shots in his last three games and has eclipsed this number just twice in his last 10 outings?

Because the forward is enjoying an elevated role on VGK’s top power-play unit. And with the lowly Buffalo Sabres (9-26-6 in their last 41 games) coming to town Tuesday, there’s a very good chance that Dadonov gets a few big scoring chances on special teams.

Buffalo has one of the league’s seventh-worst penalty kill. And with the team wrapping up a four-game, eight-day road trip Tuesday, we’re likely to see some sloppy, undisciplined play from the visitors.  If that happens, Dadonov is going to find some good shooting lanes with the man advantage. And for what it’s worth, Dadonov has accumulated three or more shots in half of his 22 home games.

Nashville Predators: LW Filip Forsberg

The Prop: Score Anytime Goal (vs. Vancouver Canucks)
The Odds: +110

Forsberg has one of the hottest sticks in the league right now. The left winger has picked up a goal and an assist in each of his last three games, bringing his totals this season to 22 goals and 14 assists in 32 outings. In January alone, Forsberg scored goals in seven of nine contests.

Admittedly, one of the two games last month that Forsberg failed to light the lamp was against the Canucks at home on Jan. 18. Still, 13 of his 22 goals have come on home ice. And in his previous 17 games against Vancouver, Forsberg put the puck in the net seven times.

Washington Capitals: LW Alex Ovechkin

The Prop: 4.5 Shots on Goal (at Pittsburgh Penguins)
The Odds: Over +125/ Under -160

Whenever Ovechkin and the Capitals take on the Penguins, you know a lot of pucks will be flying toward the net. We certainly expect more of the same Tuesday, as these Metropolitan Division rivals are desperate to pick up two points in a neck-in-neck divisional race.

Despite being fifth in the league in scoring, Ovi hasn’t registered a point in his last three games. What he has been doing, however, is taking shots. The winger has 20 shots in the last four contests, including eight against the Sharks in a 4-1 loss Wednesday.

Ovechkin has been credited with five or more shots in fewer than half his games this season (20 of 45). But he’s landed right on four 13 times, including a Dec. 10 home game against Pittsburgh. He’s also averaging 5.05 shots in 67 career games against the Pens.

With such an important matchup against a hated rival, there’s no doubt Ovechkin will be doing everything he can to throw every puck he gets at the net. Take the Over here.
