L.A.’s rushing defense has been a problem all season long for them. Joe Mixon has hit over 89.5 yards for the last two consecutive games after the bye week for the Bengals. He is one of the reasons why they are on a two-game winning streak.
Mixon rushed for 165 yards on 28 carries and two touchdowns against the Pittsburgh Steelers and also rushed for 123 yards on 30 carries and two touchdowns against the Las Vegas Raiders. He has been over 100 yards rushing in back-to-back weeks.
Opening Up the Offense
Because of his effectiveness on the ground, Joe Mixon has been taking pressure off of quarterback Joe Burrow. This is why the Bengals are running such an effective offense. Cincinnati ranks sixth in the league in total touchdowns.
Because both offenses are capable of moving the ball down the field in a hurry, Cincinnati may try to control the clock by feeding Mixon. If that’s the game plan, he should be able to cruise to the over. Given the parity in the AFC, this game could be a playoff preview.
