With Oklahoma struggling, the Big 12 is shaping up to be a competitive conference this year. Look at the matchups over the last couple of weeks, they’ve all had conference championship implications, and there have been many exciting games between ranked teams.

This certainly has the implications of being one of them, as both TCU and Oklahoma State are coming in undefeated this season. They’ve been getting it done with exciting offenses led by two-way quarterbacks that have been some of the best in the country. They’ll both need to bring their A-game, as this could turn into an offensive showdown.

Let’s run through my favorite Oklahoma State vs. TCU predictions for this highly-anticipated matchup on Saturday, Oct. 15.

The Horned Frogs Keep Putting Up Big Points

TCU’s offense is so much fun to watch. Sonny Dykes, in his first year with the Horned Frogs, is bringing his high-octane offense from the Sun Belt to the Big 12. This has worked seamlessly as TCU has the third most points per game in the country (46.6).

Max Duggan has transformed from a run-first quarterback to now being a dual threat. That rushing ability still forces defenders to stay at the line, and it’s been giving him one-on-one matchups that he’s been hitting hard.

That was evident when he and WR Quentin Johnson connected for 206 yards against Kansas. Oklahoma State has been awful against the pass this season, ranking 126th out of 131 in passing yards allowed, and their DB depth could be thin with defensive backs Korie Black and Demarco Jones leaving last week’s game with injuries.

Oklahoma State’s Spencer Sanders Is Having An Incredible Year

Everything we said about TCU’s offense can also be said for Oklahoma State.

Quarterback Spencer Sander has carried his Fiesta Bowl performance into this season with 12 passing touchdowns and six more on the ground. He has led this offense as one of the best in the country, with 45.2 points per game, right behind TCU at fourth in the FBS. They’re also 17th in passing offense at 310.8.

While the Cowboys don’t have a defense that can make stops, neither can TCU. They are coming into today 93rd in total yards allowed (402.8) and 110th in passing defense. Sanders will be able to move the ball just as well as Duggan.

Oklahoma State vs. TCU

Like many TCU games this season, this has the makings of a shootout. Neither defense has been particularly efficient this season, and now they are each facing a strong offense.

It’s going to come down to how dynamic each offense is. Sanders has been an excellent dual quarterback this season, but Max Duggan is on a whole other level. We’ve seen him go cheat code with his arms and legs, especially in the last two games. The Cowboys need to worry about Duggan on the ground, and they can’t leave Jackson one-on-one, so both the guys could have a monster game.

Oklahoma State also couldn’t punch it into the end zone during the second half last week against Texas Tech and settled for field goals. If that’s the case this week, they will fall behind.

I love TCU continuing to roll, putting itself in the forefront of the Big 12.

Pick: TCU -3.5 | -110 at Betway Sportsbook
