It’s Week 2 of the NFL preseason, and we’ll dive into our favorite Saints vs. Packers predictions for this game on Friday, Aug. 19.
The Packers lost their first exhibition game of the year by a score of 21-28 at San Francisco. The Saints also dropped their contest last week, coming up short 13-17 to the Texans.
Which starters will be playing, and who will come away with the victory? We’ll run through it all in our Saints vs. Packers predictions and odds for NFL preseason Week 2.

How Will The New Packers Play The Second Time?
Jordan Love had some highs and lows in his start in Week 1. He started off well, and threw a touchdown in his second possession.
He, unfortunately, had three picks in that game, but you could say two weren’t his fault. One pass popped off the receiver’s chest and into the hands of the 49ers defender, and the other was a 50/50 ball the defender ripped out of the receiver’s hand.
Once again, he should see most of the snaps as we probably won’t find Rodgers on the field during the preseason.

The real question is, how will the Packers’ young receivers do in Week 2 now with Aaron Rodgers putting them under a microscope? The veteran quarterback recently made some comments about his offense needing to make improvements and made sure to mention the young wide receivers.
We likely won’t see rookie WR Christian Watson as he was just activated off the PUP list. However, we’ll see the other receiver they drafted: Romeo Doubs. In the first week against the 49ers, Doubs led the team with three catches, was second with 45 yards, and had a pretty good over-the-shoulder catch for a 34-yard touchdown.

The Saints Offenses Was Sluggish Last Week
With Jameis Winston beginning to practice as he recovers from an ACL tear last season, he will not play in this game or likely the preseason overall.
Andy Dalton will likely get the start again, with Ian Book as the backup.
Dalton was effective in his lone drive, throwing a nine-yard touchdown to Dwayne Washington. Unfortunately, it would be the only success from the Saints’ offense as Book was shaky, his timing was off, and he had problems holding onto the ball too long.

It should be the same situation in Week 2, as it would be hard to believe the depth chart will change in these two games.
Saints vs. Packers Predictions
Neither offense impressed us in the first week, and it doesn’t look like that’s a concern right now.
Both these teams will not have their regular season starting quarterbacks and possibly most of their starters in general. As we see backups and prominent players out of pads, I expect this to be a clean game.
If I had to bet on a side, then I like the Packers. Jordan Love will see the field more than Andy Dalton and Green Bay, and I’ll take Love over Ian Book. The Packers still have so much to prove, especially the rookies as their quarterback questions their ability.
Prediction 1: Packers -3 | DraftKings Sportsbook
If I had to run with a total the under is a confident pick. New Orleans did not look like they wanted to run up the score but wanted to get some guy a little bit of playing time.
Prediction 2: Under 39.5 total points | DraftKings Sportsbook
