The French Open men’s final odds tell a definitive story: Rafael Nadal has an excellent chance to claim his 14th title at Roland Garros.
Prior to the tournament, we were concerned about Nadal’s foot ailment. That’s an afterthought at this point, as the 36-year-old has looked strong physically upon reaching the final. Nadal will need that strength in this match against No. 8 seed Casper Ruud of Norway.
Nadal entered the French Open with the third-best odds (+290) to lift the trophy. Ruud was a deeper long shot at +3800. But it’s not like the Norwegian is an unknown commodity on the ATP circuit, as he’s currently ranked eighth on the tour.

Rafael Nadal vs. Casper Ruud Breakdown
Date/Time: Sunday, June 5, 9:15 a.m. ET
Head-to-Head: This is the first ATP head-to-head meeting between Nadal and Ruud. However, there’s some familiarity here, as Ruud trained at the Rafa Nadal Academy since 2018.
Betting Nadal: Nadal caught a break in his semifinal match against world No. 3 Alexander Zverev, who retired with an injury. The Spaniard dropped the first set and was prepared for a tiebreaker in the second set when Zverev retired. Because of that, Nadal avoided extra wear and tear along with the potential upset. Now he emerges as a solid favorite to claim yet another French Open title.
Betting Ruud: This may be hard to believe, but Ruud has the most ATP wins on clay since 2020. Translation: he’s no fluke. The 23-year-old has claimed eight clay titles over that span, but Sunday’s match will serve as his first Grand Slam final. Ruud has faced only one player ranked higher than him in this clay season. That was world No. 1 Novak Djokovic, who swept Ruud 6-4, 6-3 at the Rome Masters last month.
