The present and future collide at Roland Garros on Saturday. The current No. 1 women’s player, Iga Swiatek, looks to take her second French Open title in three years. Standing in her way is 18-year-old Coco Gauff, playing in her first Grand Slam final.

Swiatek was the overwhelming favorite in French Open women’s odds pre-tournament, checking in at a short -110 to claim the title. On the other hand, Gauff was a +4800 longshot who worked her way into the final without dropping a set along the way.

Props.com breaks down the French Open women’s final odds and action for Saturday’s match between Swiatek and Gauff.

Swiatek vs. Gauff Breakdown

Date/Time: Saturday, June 4, 9 a.m. ET

Head-to-Head: Swiatek and Gauff have met twice in their career. Swiatek took both of those matches, one coming earlier this year and the other in 2021 (on clay in Rome). Gauff did not win a set in either of those matches.

Betting Swiatek: Winning in two sets is something Swiatek has done with regularity this clay season. The No. 1 WTA player is now 15-0 on clay. She has dropped just two sets in that span, winning 30. For that reason, taking Swiatek to win 2-0 over Gauff is an enticing bet. Those odds are just -250 compared to Swiatek’s outright winner odds of -700.

Betting Gauff: Prior to the first round, Gauff was +4800 to win the French Open. Now she’s in the final with +500 odds to lift the trophy. Again, this is Gauff’s first appearance in a Grand Slam final. The 18-year-old will need to manage the pressure in order to keep pace with Swiatek’s dominant form.
