Washington Wizards: PG Raul Neto

The prop: 17.5 points & assists (vs. Detroit)
The odds: Over -115/Under -120

The Wizards have some minutes available in the backcourt after trading away Spencer Dinwiddie, and Ish Smith is expected to absorb some of them. Smith played around 20 minutes in his first game with the Wizards, which left a 28.4-minute workload for Neto.

Neto finished with 10 points and four rebounds in that contest, and it’s hard to see him hitting the over with similar playing time on Monday. He’s averaged just 18.5 points + assists per 36 minutes this season.

The Under looks very appealing for that reason.

Portland Blazers: PG Anfernee Simons

The prop: 28.5 points/rebounds/assists (at Milwaukee)
The odds: Over -120/Under -115

The Blazers have rebuilt their roster over the past two weeks. They started by trading Norman Powell to the Clippers followed by shipping C.J. McCollum to the Pelicans. They’ve committed to rebuilding on the fly around Damian Lillard, but it’s possible that Lillard misses the remainder of the season.

That leaves Simons to serve as their top offensive option. Simons has played nine games without Lillard and McCollum this season, and he leads the team with a 28.1% usage rate and a 35.1% assist rate in those contests.

Overall, he’s averaged 27.6 points, 7.4 assists, and 2.9 rebounds in those games, so his current line seems extremely low. There is some blowout concern – the Blazers are 15.5-point underdogs – but Simons should cruise past this number as long as he sees his usual workload.

San Antonio Spurs: PG Dejounte Murray

The prop: 40.5 points/rebounds/assists (at Chicago)
The odds: Over -110/Under -125

Murray is another player whose stock is on the rise following the trade deadline. The Spurs shipped Derrick White to the Celtics, leaving Murray without his top running mate.

Murray has absolutely dominated in his two games since the White trade. He’s averaged 31.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 13.5 assists per game, and I expect that type of production to continue. Serving as San Antonio’s undisputed floor general, Murray has averaged 46.6 points + rebounds + assists in seven games without White this season.

The Bulls are also a nice matchup for Murray. They rank just 27th in defensive efficiency over their past 10 games, allowing an average of 118.8 points per 100 possessions. The total on this game also sits at 234.5 points, which is the top mark on the slate.

Chicago Bulls: PG Ayo Dosunmu

The prop: 6.5 assists (vs. Spurs)
The odds: Over -145/Under +110

Let’s take a shot at another over in this contest. The Bulls are extremely thin in the backcourt at the moment, with Zach LaVine, Lonzo Ball, and Alex Caruso all sidelined. That leaves Dosunmu and Coby White to handle most of the minutes.

Dosunmu has proven capable of shouldering the added responsibilities. The rookie out of Illinois has played in five games without LaVine, Ball, and Caruso this season, and he leads the team with an average of 39.2 minutes in those contests. He’s also seen a team-high +12.6% bump to his assist rate, and he’s averaged 8.0 assists in those games. Dosunmu has been even better in his last two contests, handing out at least nine dimes in each.

It helps that his opponent, San Antonio, ranks 23rd in defensive efficiency to opposing backcourt players.

Golden State Warriors: SG Klay Thompson

The prop: 18.5 points (vs. L.A. Clippers)
The odds: Over -105/Under -125

It’s good to have Thompson back in our lives. He was having a relatively quiet performance in his last outing before catching fire in the fourth quarter. He scored 16 points in the final frame on Saturday, which was able to push the Warriors past the struggling Lakers by a score of 117-115.

Thompson has now scored at least 21 points in three of his past four games, and his role only figures to increase. His minute restriction was recently lifted to 30, and Thompson is more than capable of scoring 19+ points in 30 minutes. He’s averaging 17.9 points over 24.7 minutes so far this season, so this number seems especially low.
