OHIO STATE WR CHRIS OLAVE — OVER 1,000 YARDS RECEIVING
FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION
1) Over the last two seasons with Justin Fields helming the Ohio State offense, Olave racked up a combined 98 catches for 1,569 yards (16 yards per reception) along with 19 touchdowns.
2) A glance at Olave’s game logs show he crossed the elite-level threshold of 100 yards receiving and/or at least one touchdown scored seven times in eight games last season; and during his final eight contests in 2019, Olave rolled for 90-plus receiving yards and/or one TD each time.
3) For what it’s worth, Ohio State’s three non-conference foes in 2021 (Oregon, Tulsa and Akron) all finished 70th or higher nationally in passing yards allowed last season.
4) Charting Ohio State’s four most prolific receivers in school history (Michael Jenkins, David Boston, Gary Williams and Cris Carter), only Williams failed to record at least one campaign of 1,000 yards receiving.
The uber-athletic Olave, who has yet to crack the 900-yard mark in a single campaign, needs 1,100-plus yards to usurp Jenkins (2,746 yards, 16 TDs) as the Buckeyes’ all-time receiving yardage leader.
