No Starting Quarterback Will Be Named Till Week 3
The Wolverines have an interesting storyline heading into this week. As of now, they have not named a starting quarterback, sort of. Head Jim Harbaugh announced that both Cade McNamara and J.J. McCarthy will each start one game over the next two weeks and then name a permanent starter for Week 3. McNamara will start in this game.
Cade McNamara will more than likely be the starting quarterback for the Michigan Wolverines.
And I’m honestly kind of intrigued.

I can’t recall the last time a springtime quarterback competition was settled this way, but at least it gives both quarterbacks a chance to prove themselves in a real game situation.
Jay Norvell’s Debut For The Rams
A brand new era starts for Colorado State as the Rams stole Jay Norvell from Moutain West rival Nevada. Norvell brought several key players, including starting quarterback Clay Millen, receivers Tory Horton, Melquan Stovall, safety Angel King, and right guard Gray Davis.

Millen is a redshirt sophomore who attempted two passes as Carson Strong’s backup last year, and it’ll be a tall order to have to take on the Michigan defense in the big house. While he will have a solid offensive line with players with a lot of starting experience, most of them were plucked from the transfer portal, and they’ve yet to play a game together.
Michigan vs. Colorado State Predictions
It’s not going to matter who’s behind center for Michigan, they still have one of the better offensive lines in the country. The Wolverines will win in the trenches, springing RB Blake Corum to run freely and McNamara to make plays when he needs to.
The Rams overall were a bad football team last year, finishing 98th in points score (23.7) and 83rd in points allowed (28.3). While Norvell will make them into a better team down the road, the Rams will experience some growing pains along the way. Especially in the first game against a playoff team from last season.
It’s a big spread, but Michigan should not have a problem covering it.
