Will The Lakers Land Kyrie?

Seeing the Lakers in first place is surprising. However, the Lakers could potentially trade Russell Westbrook for Irving and then sweeten the pot with other pieces or draft picks.

This could make sense for the Nets too. Brooklyn would prefer to send Irving to the Western Conference if possible. That’s the hangup with the Miami Heat, which checks in with the second-best odds. Seeing LeBron James reunited with Irving in Los Angeles would certainly shake things up in the standings. As of Feb. 3, the Lakers are 25-28, which is 12th in the Western Conference but only 2.5 games behind the sixth-seed Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Nets are currently 31-20, good for fourth place in the Eastern Conference. Brooklyn’s other superstar, Kevin Durant, is likely to return from injury sometime in the next few weeks.

What About The Mavericks?

According to NBA Insider Marc Stein, the Mavericks are interested in putting a deal together for Irving.

Dallas has been interested in getting star Luka Doncic some help ever since he broke into the league. The Kristaps Porzingis experiment didn’t go as planned, and now the Mavericks are seeking other options to get over the hump and make a run into the NBA Finals.

Whoever makes an offer for Irving, you better believe numerous draft picks will be involved.
