As we begin to begin Week 13 research for NFL betting props, I’ve got the Cincinnati Bengals circled early in the week as a great option to target.
There’s one player in particular I’m planning to bet on, fresh off a monster Week 12. That would be Bengals running back Joe Mixon. Let me explain why.
Prop lines won’t be available until Thursday or Friday, but BetPrep projects Mixon’s over/under at 88.5 rushing yards. It may come in closer to the 70s by the weekend.
The Bengals’ Opponent
It’s crazy that there are only six weeks left in the NFL regular season, and while that’s tough to believe, it makes studying trends all the more reliable.
Barring an injury or a key player returning to the lineup, teams are what they are. What I mean is, if a team has struggled to stop the run all year, it’s very likely those issues are going to plague them until the season’s end.
With that established, it makes the Los Angeles Chargers a weekly target for running back props.
The Chargers continue to be generous to success on the ground. They rank 32nd in rushing yards per game at 145.3 and allow the third-most rushing yards per attempt.
Chunk plays like the below from Melvin Gordon happen regularly against Los Angeles.

Gordon finished that game with 83 yards and Javonte Williams tacked on 54.
L.A. hasn’t been able to stop the run and it’s a safe bet to consider this week’s running back against this defense.
Mixon’s Production
That brings us to Joe Mixon.

Mixon is coming off the best game of his season, rushing for 165 yards and two touchdowns. That’s now two straight huge games, as Mixon went for 123 rushing yards in Week 11.
On the year, the Bengals running back is averaging 4.4 yards per carry and is third in the NFL in rushing yards.
He’s the bell cow in this Cincinnati offense and a reliable option to stack another big game on Sunday.
Against this Chargers defense and with the workload he’s seeing, bet Joe Mixon confidently in Week 13.
