Where’s the top Underdog NBA value for today’s slate?
Tobias Harris Higher Than 15.5 Points (1.0x)
The Pistons have been one of the biggest surprises in the NBA this season. They have a ton of young talent – picking in the top-five nearly every year for the past decade will do that for you – and they added a few reliable veterans this offseason. It’s all come together over the second half of the year, with the Pistons going 13-6 and ranking third in Net Rating since the All-Star break. They’re up to fifth place in the Eastern Conference standings, and they’re just 1.0 game behind the Pacers for fourth.
Unfortunately, the Pistons are likely going to be without their biggest star on Sunday. Cade Cunningham is currently doubtful with a calf injury, so he’s expected to miss his fourth straight contest. Jaden Ivey also remains out of the lineup, leaving the team without their top two scoring threats.
Harris is also questionable after sitting out the team’s last game, but he should serve as one of the team’s primary scoring threats if he returns to the lineup. He’s seen a team-high +4.11% usage bump with Cunningham and Ivey off the floor this season, resulting in an average of 19.79 points per 36 minutes. In three full games without both players, he’s averaged 17.0 points in just 31 minutes per game.
The Timberwolves aren’t an ideal matchup, but they haven’t been quite as stout defensively as they were last year. They’re merely ninth in defensive efficiency since the All-Star break, so Harris and company should be able to find some scoring opportunities.
If Harris is forced to miss his second straight game, Dennis Schroder, Malik Beasley, and Tim Hardaway Jr. would stand out as appealing targets.

Mikal Bridges Higher Than 24.5 Points (1.97x)
The injuries are piling up in the Knicks’ backcourt. They’re going to be without their top three point guard options on Sunday, with Jalen Brunson, Miles McBride, and Cameron Payne all out of the lineup with injuries.
Very few players see more court time than Bridges, who has averaged 37.6 minutes per game for the year. He hasn’t been fully utilized on offense in his first year with the Knicks, but he’s still a capable scorer when called upon. He’s shooting just under 50% from the field for the year, and he’s seen a +9.61% bump to his usage rate with Brunson, McBride, and Payne all off the floor. That gives him a solid ceiling vs. the Blazers, and Bridges has gone for at least 25 points in two of his past four games.
