Suns vs. Clippers Predictions

The biggest headline coming into Game 5 is that Kawhi Leonard is still out with a sprained right knee. Paul George, who has been sidelined for this entire series, will not return to the lineup either.

Leonard missed the Clippers’ last two games, as LAC fell to Phoenix 129-124 and 112-100 in those home games without him. Now Los Angeles will travel to Phoenix and try to keep the series alive.

Russell Westbrook scored 30+ points in both of those games without Leonard. The Clippers will need other players to pick up the scoring slack if they want to stay competitive. Norman Powell had 42 points in Game 4’s loss, and LAC could use a similar performance if they hope to pull out a Game 5 victory.

Regardless, the Clippers should come out ready to compete with their backs against the wall. We’ve seen that Westbrook will do everything in his power to lead this squad and that energy should be contagious.

While Los Angeles probably won’t win this game, expect them to keep it close to the final buzzer. Desperation is on their side, and covering the 12-point spread is plausible.
