FanDuel is the easiest to use sportsbook out there. Takes less than 5 seconds to login, which is great for live betting. Their UI is extremely easy to navigate. The aesthetic is nice and clean with a white background, making the text easy to read. I love how you can see a ton of information- spreads, totals and moneyline prices are available in the same view. Decent promo’s that are given to users, and it is also very fast. The live betting feature is also a lot better than other apps because of the speed. Sometimes they don’t have as many special props on games as other sportsbooks, and their offers to new customers aren’t as great as others. However, the ease of use and other features make it the most attractive for seasoned betters and newcomers alike.

FanDuel Sportsbook is my favorite and I use it the most frequently. I like FanDuel Sportsbook because it has the most props available. You can practically bet anything you want on Fanduel and it has great specials too. FanDuel also has a friendly user interface and it is easy to use. FanDuel also has the most flexible single-game parlay feature. You can do single game parlays for any sport and you can parlay multiple single-game parlays which is a great feature. Fanduel also has the most player props available. Another great feature of FanDuel is that you can bet alternate lines for spreads and player props. The only thing FanDuel can work on is having more free money promotions. Draftkings regularly gives away free bets.

Tyisha Lassiter (Mays Landing, NJ)

FanDuel is where I place most of my bets, mostly due to the general speed and ease of use of the mobile app. I really only use the mobile app – I don’t place many bets on desktop. I’ve also never had any issues depositing or cashing out at FanDuel, which hasn’t been the case at some other sportsbooks, and I like the frequent odds boosts. I would like to see more in-play markets and I do think some other sportsbooks have slightly better VIP programs.

Bet preview screen is perfect, small enough to be there but not in the way at all like DK. The promo featured is very convincing and perfectly outlines the boost of special parlay. Details and odds payout are good to include. Top navigation bar is very clear, I like the balance in the bottom but the doubler casino icons seem redundant. The announcement bar in the upper right could use something up there. Went to go bet college basketball and the jerseys were brutal to look at.

Scott Rosenthal (Denver, CO)

FanDuel has a really solid user interface both on the website and on the Android app. I wish they had more promos for bigger benefits like some of the other sportsbooks. I messaged with their support team once and they had a relatively short wait time. No issues at all with their deposits or withdrawals.

Q&A

  • Can I bet on esports at FanDuel? No. Esports betting is currently not available on FanDuel, but it is an option that will likely be included in the future. Esports has become more popular but also requires, in some states, regulations for it to be added as a sports betting option.
  • Does FanDuel offer fantasy games? Yes. Fantasy games are where FanDuel had its start. Users can play daily or season-long fantasy sports, including fantasy football, and win real money prizes. It also offers more options, including new scoring formats and contests for the NBA and college basketball seasons.
  • Is there a mobile FanDuel app? Yes. FanDuel offers a robust, intuitive mobile app for both Android and iOS devices. It also has a separate app for its fantasy sports activity. Those who already have a DFS account can download the sportsbook app and use it with their existing registration details.
  • Can I bet anonymously at FanDuel? No. While it is possible to explore the app without registering for an account, placing a bet requires registration, including name, address, phone number, and social security number. This is a requirement imposed by all of the states that have legalized sports betting.
  • Can I bet on MMA at FanDuel? Yes. FanDuel accepts bets on the MMA, UFC, and several other sports leagues in the US and worldwide. It also has prop bets and additional promos for MMA action that aren't found on many sportsbooks.
  • Does FanDuel offer betting contests? Yes. FanDuel has a variety of betting contest options for both fantasy sports and sports betting. Users can even create their own contests. This is done directly from the FanDuel Lobby by selecting "Create Contest" in the top-left corner of the Lobby page.
  • Does FanDuel offer prop bets? Yes. Prop odds can be found in "table" form on exact margins-of-victory for the favorite or the underdog. There are also various additional prop bets offered, including player props, for almost all major sports leagues and contests.
  • Does FanDuel have a rewards program? No. The FanDuel Sportsbook doesn't currently offer a rewards program. However, FanDuel users can earn FanDuel Players Club points by participating in daily fantasy games.

The Matchup

You can’t go wrong with either of the two leading sports betting brands in the US, but FanDuel Sportsbook and DraftKings Sportsbook do differ in some respects.

FanDuel’s standard welcome bonus ($1,000 risk-free bet) gets the edge over DraftKings (20% deposit match up to $1,000). The DraftKings’ bonus requires 25x playthrough, meaning you have to wager $25,000 total to earn the full $1,000 bonus. Keep in mind that the bonus offers from both FanDuel and DraftKings change occasionally, as DraftKings has recently offered a Bet $5 Get $200 promotion.

The selection of available sports are a deadlock between the rival sports betting brands. Both FanDuel and DraftKings boast highly-rated mobile apps, creating another dead heat in that category.

DraftKings’ loyalty program gets the checkmark in that column, while both brands offer a top-rated mobile app and selection of sports.

FanDuel Sportsbook Review

FanDuel Sportsbook operates as the most popular legal online sportsbook in the U.S. The FanDuel platform boasts top-notch online sports betting services, a wide range of sports and ways to bet, and several deposit options.

FanDuel started as a daily fantasy sports site in 2009. FanDuel DFS drew over six million registered users to the platform in less than ten years.

In May 2018, the Supreme Court eliminated the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1992 (PAPSA), allowing the U.S. to launch legalized online sports betting.

The opportunity to expand into legal sports betting paved the way for FanDuel to merge with Flutter Entertainment (Paddy Power Betfair) and launch an expanded FanDuel brand. The FanDuel online betting site now offers legal sports betting in more than 15 states across the U.S.

FanDuel started as a DFS site and has since developed into one of the most highly-rated sports betting apps in the U.S.

Amy Howe took over as FanDuel Group’s CEO in October 2021. Before that, she served as the interim CEO after Matt King announced his departure from the company in July 2021.

Howe had only been with the company a short time and was with Live Nation Entertainment until February 2021, when she made her transition. At Live Nation, she was the chief operating officer of Ticketmaster, the company’s largest division.

FanDuel Sportsbook At A Glance

Since the approval of national legal sports betting in 2018, FanDuel Sportsbook stands as the top mobile sports betting app for sports fans in the U.S. This FanDuel review offers a comprehensive look at the nation’s most popular online sports betting site.

FanDuel’s Easy Approach To Sports Betting

In many cases, legal U.S. online sportsbooks provide different mobile applications in each jurisdiction where they are licensed.

The FanDuel Sportsbook app is one of the few in the online sports betting market that functions as a single app for multiple states, making it easy for sports bettors to download the app and navigate to the appropriate state. In addition, the interface provides a modern and intuitive experience that appeals to novice and advanced bettors.

Bettors can quickly and easily navigate through the different betting options. For example, turning bets into parlays, teasers, or round robins is straightforward. In addition, FanDuel odds are displayed in a user-friendly manner, with odds boosts on selected games available daily.

$1,000 No Sweat First Bet Promo

Virtually all online sportsbooks offers some kind of new player bonus. These exclusive bonuses are only available to newcomers to a particular online sportsbook.

The FanDuel welcome bonus greets new players with a $1,000 “No Sweat First Bet” promo. The FanDuel bonus functions as a risk-free bet bonus, one of the most common bonus types you’ll see at legal online sportsbooks in the U.S.

The “No Sweat First Bet” allows you to make you first wager at FanDuel, and get a full refund on the wager if it loses (up to $1,000 bonus bets max).

You can unlock the $1,000 No Sweat First Bet by signing up at FanDuel Sportsbook through the “CLAIM OFFER” or “BET NOW” links provided in this review. No FanDuel Sportsbook promo code is necessary.

Where Is FanDuel Sportsbook Legal?

Many online sportsbook apps now offer their services in the U.S.  You can legally bet at FanDuel Sportsbook in more than 15 states. Parlaying its excellence in daily fantasy sports operations to the sports betting segment has proven highly successful, and FanDuel understands what it means to offer a transparent and compliant platform.

FanDuel online sportsbook is licensed and regulated in several states that legalize sports betting. That list of states includes:

You can click on the state names in the above list to open the Props.com guides to sports betting in each state.

Note that some states operate with different laws pertaining to online sports wagering. For example, New Jersey, New York, and other states don’t allow you to place bets on college sports that involve in-state college teams or events.

Look for FanDuel Ohio and FanDuel Maryland to debut in those states by the beginning of 2022.

A recent change in Canada’s gambling laws allows single-game sports betting in provinces that pass the appropriate legislation. As a result, FanDuel Ontario launched in 2022.

Sportsbook Features

FanDuel is a name that carries a reputation as among the best legal online sports betting sites in the U.S. It has an international conglomeration of experts running all aspects of the company, lending to its strong position in the market. In addition, FanDuel offers several customer service contact methods, which is always a good sign of a reputable company.

The FanDuel Sportsbook app includes a “Sports Betting Training Camp Feature.” This is a virtual but simple library of information on spread, moneyline, totals and prop bets. It also has an easy-to-understand tutorial on parlays and teasers.

Other FanDuel Sportsbook features include:

  • Same Game Parlay
  • Player and Game Props
  • Multi-Sport Parlay Insurance
  • Daily Odds Boosts
  • FanDuel Live Betting (In-Game Betting)

Betting features at FanDuel Sportsbook include same game parlays and many other unique ways to bet.

A same game parlay allows players to combine multiple bets from the same game onto a single ticket on the bet slip. In addition to same game parlays, FanDuel also includes a responsible gambling feature.

Responsible gambling features are becoming more common and are a requirement in some states. FanDuel allows users to set their daily, weekly, and monthly deposit and betting limits, ensuring they can’t go too far.

In addition, bettors can set daily time limits to restrict overall usage and impose “cool down” periods and self-exclusion to prohibit future activity completely. The FanDuel website also includes several gambling problem resources.

When it comes time to withdraw winnings, FanDuel makes it easy for users. Unless there is some question about a particular transaction, withdrawals are processed quickly, and you can send funds via ACH, the FanDuel Play+ prepaid card, PayPal, online banking, or check by mail.

Check withdrawals take longer than most of the other options. PayPal withdrawals are only possible if you’ve previously deposited using PayPal.

FanDuel’s Road To Success

FanDuel was founded as a daily fantasy sports platform in July 2009 by Nigel Eccles, Lesley Eccles, Tom Griffiths, Rob Jones, and Chris Stafford. It was an offshoot of Hubdub, a news prediction site, and immediately secured $1.2 million in venture capital funding from Pentech Ventures and Scottish Enterprise at launch.

The following year, FanDuel conducted its first FanDuel Fantasy Football Championship (FFFC), which only consisted of ten users who gained entry after winning a qualifying league throughout the NFL season. The first-place winner was awarded $25,000, and the total prize pool was $40,000.

Then, in January 2013, FanDuel announced that it had closed a Series C funding round that attracted $11 million. The following year, it completed a Series D funding round that added $70 million, and, in 2015, a Series E funding round added another $275 million, according to the company’s records. FanDuel was then reportedly worth more than $1 billion.

FanDuel Acquisition

In May 2018, Paddy Power Betfair, a sports betting operator based in Ireland, announced that it would acquire FanDuel.

That acquisition would fold Paddy Power’s existing U.S. operations, including the horse racing-oriented cable networks, TVG Network and TVG2, into FanDuel. The merger was finalized in July 2018, with the combined company of FanDuel and Paddy Power Betfair’s U.S. operations rebranding to FanDuel Group.

Shortly after the merger was completed, Paddy Power Betfair opened its first FanDuel-branded sportsbook at the Meadowlands Racetrack in New Jersey. The company opened another sportsbook at Valley Forge Casino Resort in Pennsylvania the following year.

FanDuel isn’t yet a public company, although it has been working on it for years. The company almost launched an initial public offering (IPO) in the summer of 2021 before its CEO at the time, Matt King, resigned. As a result, FanDuel could announce its IPO before the end of 2022.

Amy Howe is FanDuel’s current CEO as of October 2021. She was appointed after King’s departure and was previously the president and chief operating officer (COO) for Ticketmaster, a division of Live Nation Entertainment.

Andrew Giancamilli is FanDuel’s current COO. He has been in the position since January 2018 but has been a FanDuel asset since 2015. Giancamilli has extensive experience in the retail industry, with prior executive roles at Toys R Us and Ross Stores.

Is FanDuel Sportsbook Legit?

FanDuel has won several awards for its development and activity over the years. It won the 2012 Mashable Sports Innovation Index Award, the 2013 Europas Best Gaming Start-Up award, the 2014 FSTA Best Daily Fantasy Product award, and several other accolades.

DFS Players Can Play For Free Until They Win

FanDuel has a unique “play until you win feature,” although reasonably limited. It issues new users a voucher when the account is created that allows the user to play in a freeroll tournament for the NFL. The participants compete to beat a particular score for that week, and those who do split the $50 in free prize money. However, those who don’t are automatically given another free voucher to play again and keep getting them until they win.

The FanDuel Sportsbook transforms daily fantasy sports players’ customs to feature and highlight related options in the sportsbook. This makes it easy for DFS fans to use their knowledge to place smarter bets.

The sportsbook app also draws users to a banner that highlights the day’s featured events, promotions, and live betting options for additional attention. This isn’t unique to FanDuel, but it is a feature that not all sportsbooks offer. In addition, on the homepage of the sportsbook is a swipe menu that allows users to easily navigate between the different options of a particular sports event.

Both FanDuel’s sportsbook and DFS site offer games and bets revolving around Major League Baseball, NFL, NBA, NHL, and many other sporting events. If you already have a FanDuel account for DFS, you can use those login credentials to speed up the sign up process for a sports betting account.

Great Live Betting Options

FanDuel Sportsbook presents a wide range of live betting options. It also has a live match tracker for many sports events, including a live clock graphic that displays the score by quarter and shows which team is attacking in real time. FanDuel also has live streaming, which is a unique feature.

Check out the Props.com Guide to Live Betting.

FanDuel Casino

FanDuel Casino, only available in some states, offers numerous casino games, including video poker, roulette, blackjack, slots, and many others that gamblers expect to find on the casino floor.

In addition, players can legally access FanDuel Casino online games in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, West Virginia, and Connecticut (as Mohegan Sun Casino). The FanDuel app in those states function as casino sportsbooks platforms, with access to both sports betting and online casino games.

Online casinos continue to gain popularity in the U.S., and the FanDuel app allows one-click access to online casino games in selected states. In addition to developing one of the best sports betting apps in the industry, FanDuel also presents a highly-rated online casino platform.

FanDuel Retail Sportsbook Locations

Some of FanDuel’s legal sportsbooks taking in-person bets in the U.S. include:

  • New Jersey – The Meadowlands
  • New York – Tioga Downs Casino Resort
  • Indiana – Blue Chip Casino, Belterra Casino Resort
