BLAST Open London: Monday, September 1st
It should be noted that these opening games are in a best-of-three format and will be played online instead of on LAN, which tends to introduce more variance to the mix.
Here are the matches:
Vitality vs. FaZe
fnatic vs. M80
Mousesports vs. FURIA
Spirit vs. G2
The day starts off with a banger between two of the most prestigious eSports organizations out there.
Vitality is the strong favorite up against FaZe, who have shown some promising signs with the new fifth jcobbb. broky has returned to form as the team’s AWPer, but this is as tough as a matchup gets against the #1 team in the world.
While Vitality has not been as dominant lately, this team has such a formidable talent base of ZywOo and ropz to go with great complementary pieces and a top-notch in-game leader.
M80 and fnatic should be a close one and both organizations have shown promising signs coming into this elimination. We prefer Lake and blameF individually.
The latter two series should be competitive and fun to watch. FURIA has been playing great CS since molodoy and YEKINDAR arrived, but Mousesports is one of the best overall teams in the world.
Then there’s donk and Spirit up against G2.
This will apparently be zont1x’s last event before being replaced, which adds a little awkwardness. G2 has been playing pretty well with this new variation of the starting five, too.
Still, the talent of donk and sh1ro should carry the way once more.
Good luck!

BLAST Open London: Friday, August 29th
It should be noted that these opening games are in a best-of-three format and will be played online instead of on LAN, which tends to introduce more variance to the mix.
Here are the matches:
ECSTATIC vs. fnatic
M80 vs. Virtus.pro
Vitality vs. GamerLegion
FaZe vs. Na’Vi
My notes for the upcoming slate:
— The first two matches of the day are elimination games, starting with ECSTATIC/fnatic. This one appears like it’ll be competitive, and we like blameF on the fnatic side and Anlelele from the Danes.
— It’ a similar deal in the next best-of-three. We like what we saw from M80 in a hard-fought 2-1 series loss to Vitality in the tournament opener, but it’s another difficult test against VP.
— We then have upper-bracket semi-finals between Vitality/GamerLegion and Na’Vi/FaZe on Friday. It’s been a shaky period for Vitality, but ZywOo, ropz and company are still favored over PR and GamerLegion. We wouldn’t be surprised at all to see the underdogs get at least one map in this matchup.
— The addition of makazze is working out pretty well for Na’Vi thus far, and there’s a chance to qualify for the LAN stage of BLAST London against a FaZe squad that just brought in a new fifth in jcobbb. While FaZe has a ton of talent, we prefer Na’Vi on a team and player level.
Series Predictions
fnatic > ECSTATIC 2-1
Virtus.pro > M80 2-1
Vitality > GamerLegion 2-1
Na’Vi > FaZe 2-0

BLAST Open London: Thursday, August 28th
The first stage of BLAST Open London continues on Thursday.
It should be noted that these opening games are in a best-of-three format and will be played online instead of on LAN, which tends to introduce more variance to the mix.
Here are the matches:
Mousesports vs. Imperial
G2 vs. Liquid
Spirit vs. FlyQuest
FURIA vs. Legacy
My notes for the upcoming slate:
— Imperial has brought in two new players in chelo and skullz, who used to play together with FURIA. It’s a tough opening matchup against a strong MOUZ team that we expect to win in two maps.
— G2/Liquid looks pretty evenly matched, but we’d give the slight edge to huNter and company. Both teams have been rather inconsistent and hard to trust despite having very talented lineups.
— After a shock early exit at the Esports World Cup, Spirit will try to bounce back at BLAST Open. This will apparently be zont1x’s last tournament with Spirit before being replaced by tN1R in the starting five. donk and sh1ro remain the clear top targets for the heavily favored Russian organization.
— We end with FURIA up against Legacy in what should be a fun battle. While Legacy is no easy pushover, it’s been an excellent start to life at FURIA for molodoy and YEKINDAR, and we predict a 2-0 series win.
Series Predictions
Mousesports > Imperial 2-0
G2 > Liquid 2-1 (toss-up)
Spirit > FlyQuest 2-0
FURIA > Legacy 2-0

BLAST Open London: Wednesday, August 27th
The first stage of BLAST Open London will begin on Wednesday morning, with best-of-three matches taking place online.
Here are the matches:
Vitality vs. M80
GamerLegion vs. Virtus.pro
FaZe vs. ECSTATIC
Na’Vi vs. fnatic
The best individuals at the most recent tournament, the Esports World Cup:
My notes for the upcoming slate:
— Vitality has hit a bit of a cold patch lately, yet is still a heavy favorite against M80. We expect a determined start to BLAST Open, with ZywOo and ropz the top player targets for that best-of-three set.
— The second matchup of the day is pretty ugly from a DFS and betting perspective. Virtus.pro plays a conservative style and can be hard to play against, while GamerLegion is a younger but still very talented team. This one is more of a toss-up and a series we’ll mostly be avoiding.
— FaZe just moved EliGE to the bench in a relatively surprising move, bringing in an up-and-coming player in jcobbb. While FaZe has more firepower in general, the team comes up against a Danish squad in ECSTATIC that could cause some problems. frozen is our favorite individual play for this matchup.
— To wrap up the day, Na’Vi will enter as the favorites over fnatic, and that’s where we’re focusing our attention. We mostly prefer makazze and b1t. The former has made a positive impression since replacing jL in the starting lineup and is a confident, aggressive player. b1t is a steadier presence who brings more consistency to the equation.
Series Predictions
Vitality > M80 2-0
Virtus.pro > GamerLegion 2-1

Na’Vi > fnatic 2-0
