Of all the markets for touchdown scorers, it’s possible the most underrated one is last to score. Obviously, there’s a lot of guesswork that goes into this prop. But there’s also strategy we’ll break down in this best last touchdown scorer bets article.

Basically, ask yourself how you expect the game to go. Create a scenario. What player, then, benefits most from that scenario?

Answer that question, and you might have yourself a bet.

With that in mind, here’s some of our best last touchdown scorer props we have our eye on for Week 2.

Our staff runs through their best last touchdown scorer bets.

Jets RB Braelon Allen (+1100)

Breece Hall was expected to be the bellcow for the Jets, much like he was last year – and much like he was in Week 1.

But last week, Braelon Allen saw much more action than expected, tallying a 35% snap share and turning nine touches into a pair of touchdowns. This, despite not touching the ball until late in the second quarter.

And he looked good doing it.

While one week does not a trend make, it’s certainly fair to wonder if Allen is going to go from “backup” to “featured player” on this Jets team, especially if – as in last week’s victory over the Titans – the game stays close.

So with that in mind, why not expect a moderately close game Thursday night, and why not expect Allen to see the field as much as he did last week, and why not expect the 235-pound size-and-speed demon finding himself in the endzone for the third time in two weeks?

Obviously, a lot of guesswork goes into “last touchdown scorer,” but if Allen’s usage mirrors last week’s, his odds will be a lot shorter come Week 4.

Patriots RB Antonio Gibson (+1600)

Antonio Gibson, somewhat surprisingly, got 11 carries last week, which he turned into 96 yards. He also picked up another seven yards on a single reception. And while we’re not calling this backfield a timeshare – after all, Rhamondre Stevenson had 23 touches in Sunday’s loss – it’s clear Gibson has a role here.

Especially in close games, and this Jets-Patriots matchup – the Jets are 6.5-point favorites – might end up being close. The game feels like it will be a close one, as well: Two slow-paced teams, division matchup, short week.

So yes: Maybe it’s fourth quarter, Patriots driving, a 3rd and 5 from the Jets 13 or so, a swing pass to Gibson, and he takes it to the house. That’s certainly on the table, and while +1600 might be a little high for a part-time player, Gibson will be on the field in these third down situations. He’s worth a sprinkle at these odds.
