Are the Giants Ready for a Win at Glendale?

To open the season, the Giants hosted the Cowboys. However, they dropped to 0-1, as they lost by a score of 40-0. With their 40-point loss, the Giants also were handed a defeat on their ATS record. Going into the game, they were 3-point underdogs.

On offense, the Giants finished with 171 yards against the Cowboys. When it came to third downs, the Giants had a 31.2% conversion rate. Leading the ground game was Saquon Barkley with 51 yards, and Daniel Jones contributed 104 passing yards.

On the defensive side, the Giants allowed 265 yards of total offense to Dallas. Among these yards, 122 were given up on the ground, while the team’s secondary gave up 143 yards through 25 attempts.

Will Arizona Come Through as Home Underdogs?

In their season opener, the Cardinals started the season by playing a road game against the Commanders, resulting in a 20-16 loss. They’re now 0-1 going into week two. Even with a loss to Washington, the Cardinals did manage to cover the spread. They were 6.5-point underdogs going into the game.

Looking at their performance on offense, Joshua Dobbs threw for 132 yards while completing 70% of his passes. On the ground, the Cardinals rushed the ball 25 times for 96 yards. The team’s third-down performance stood at 4/14.

Defensively, the Cardinals allowed 248 total yards of offense against Washington. Of these yards, 92 were surrendered on the ground, while the team’s secondary conceded 156 yards on 31 pass attempts.

Cardinals vs. Giants Player Prop

Looking at the prop market for this matchup, Daniel Jones has a passing yards prop of 208.5. The odds indicate a 53% chance of him surpassing this total, with an under payout of -121.

Jones has recorded 104 passing yards on 28 throws thus far. His overall completion percentage stands at 53.6%, resulting in a passer rating of 32.4. Given that he is facing a Cardinals defense that has done a good job putting pressure on the quarterback so far, I see Jones struggling to deal with the pressure of Arizona’s front seven. I’m taking the under at 208.5 passing yards.

The Prop: Daniel Jones Under 208.5 Passing Yards (-121)

Cardinals VS. Giants Predictions

By looking at the betting splits on DraftKings, it appears that the public is siding with the Giants against the spread. Over 70% of the tickets and handle are on the Giants -5.5 on the road.

However, I’m looking to go against the grain while getting 5.5 points with the Cardinals at home. New York struggled across the board on offense vs. the Cowboys, and Arizona nearly pulled out a Week 1 upset on the road. Perhaps the Cardinals aren’t as bad as we envisioned to start the season? We like Arizona as 5.5-point underdogs.
