Will the Bears Secure A Victory as Road Underdogs?

The Bears opened their season by playing host to the Packers. But after a 38-20 loss, they find themselves at 0-1. With the 18-point loss to the Packers, the Bears also took a loss vs. the spread as 1-point favorites.

Against the Packers, the Bears ran the ball 29 times, with Justin Fields as the top rusher, gaining 59 yards. Justin Fields attempted 37 passes, amassing 216 yards and a passer rating of 78.

Defensively, the Bears recorded one sack and one interception. The team’s secondary conceded 237 passing yards, while their rush defense gave up 92 rushing yards.

Can Tampa Bay Pull Out the Win as Home Favorites?

To start the season, the Buccaneers traveled to take on the Vikings and notched a 20-17 win. Besides their outright victory, the Buccaneers also covered the spread as 4-point underdogs.

In terms of offensive production, Baker Mayfield finished with 173 passing yards with a completion rate of 61%. The Buccaneers ran the ball 33 times for 73 yards. The team’s third-down conversion rate was 6/17.

When it came to defense, the Buccaneers yielded 369 yards of total offense to Minnesota. Among these yards, 41 were attributed to the rushing game, while 328 yards were given up through 44 attempts by the Vikings’ offense.

Buccaneers vs. Bears Player Prop

In his first game as the Buccaneers’ lead back, White struggled, averaging just 2.3 yards per carry against the Vikings. We saw what Philadelphia RB D’Andre Swift did against that Minnesota run defense on Thursday Night Football — so it’s not like the Vikings are some juggernaut against the run.

This week, White is up against the Bears, a team that excelled at stopping the run in their game against the Packers, allowing just 2.9 yards per carry. If White underperforms again, there’s a chance backup RBs like Sean Tucker and Chase Edmonds could get a chance to take some of his snaps. Additionally, quarterback Baker Mayfield is more than capable of running the ball, adding another layer of complexity to the situation.

Buccaneers VS. Bears Predictions

When looking at the betting splits, it appears that the sharp money is on the Bears against the spread. Only 42% of the betting tickets are for the Bears +2.5, but 59% of the money has come in on Chicago against the spread.

It’s hard to believe that Tampa Bay is as good as they showed last week at Minnesota. How much of that win was due to the Vikings shooting themselves in the foot? On the other hand, it’s hard to believe that the Bears were as bad as they showed last week against the Packers.

Look for both sides to get back to the mean, and Chicago to prove themselves on the road.
