Cardinals vs. Saints Player Props: Thursday Night Football Prop Bets (Week 7)

The Cardinals and Saints are giving us a reprieve from the Broncos in primetime. Hallelujah. Unfortunately, the game’s total doesn’t scream a shootout. Still, the spread is small. So, it’s unlikely either team will be forced into catch-up mode early. As a result, this might be a methodical game played at a modest pace. Because of that, we have two unders listed as highlighted Cardinals vs. Saints player props.

Still, there’s an over that looks like a steal. Let’s dive into the top three Thursday Night Football prop bets.

Kyler Murray Under 35.5-Yard Longest Completion (-115)

First, I have to tip my cap to Josh Larky from The 33rd Team for bringing my attention to Kyler Murray’s longest-completion prop.

The lines dipped one yard across the industry since his tweet, but it’s still tantalizing. In addition, I found slightly better odds for the under at BetMGM Sportsbook. As Larky pointed out, Murray’s longest completion this year was only 32 yards.

In addition, Murray has completed only 11 of 41 attempts that traveled at least 15 Air Yards. Woof. Conversely, the Saints have allowed just 15 completions on 37 attempts of at least 15 Air Yards in 2022.

Moreover, Marquise Brown was Arizona’s best receiver and only speed in the passing attack, and he’s on Injured Reserve (IR). Arizona traded for speedy disgruntled wideout Robbie Anderson, but he won’t be heavily involved in the offense if he plays at all.

So, I love Murray failing to complete a pass deeper than 35.5 yards.

Juwan Johnson Over 25.5 Receiving Yards (-113)

Tight ends have taken a blowtorch to Arizona’s defense. According to Football Outsiders, the Cardinals have allowed the most receiving yards per game (79.6) to tight ends this year. Meanwhile, Juwan Johnson is the top tight end on the Saints, and Adam Trautman is out.

The former wideout hasn’t been a stud, but he’s been quarterback-proof, alleviating any concern about the mystery surrounding whether Andy Dalton or Jameis Winston will start for the Saints. Johnson has had at least 33 receiving yards in four of six games this year, reaching at least that threshold in two games with each quarterback.

Finally, the Saints are banged up in the receiving corps. In addition to Trautman being ruled out at tight end, Michael Thomas and Jarvis Landry are out at wide receiver. According to Pro Football Focus (PFF), Johnson has run the second-most routes (63) for the Saints in the last three weeks. So, he’s involved in the offense and has a tasty matchup, making his over an exciting betting selection.

A.J. Green Under 24.5 Receiving Yards (-115)

A.J. Green is dusted. And, frankly, this bet makes me feel uneasy because it seems too obvious. Still, all signs point to Green going under 24.5 yards, as he has in all five games this season.

Again, Murray has been hot garbage on deep passes, and the Saints have allowed a low completion percentage on them. Meanwhile, washed-up Green is being used deep. According to PFF, he’s had an 11.0-yard Average Depth of Target (aDOT).

Additionally, Green has earned a target on a paltry 12.8% of his routes. He’s also hauled in only 10 of 21 targets. So, it’s been an ugly year for the 34-year-old wideout. Finally, Green’s season highs this year for a game are three receptions and 20 receiving yards. Thus, I love his under for 24.5 receiving yards.
