Colorado vs. Nebraska Props

Sims had a rocky Nebraska debut against Minnesota last Thursday. Despite throwing three interceptions that contributed to the Cornhuskers’ loss, he showed promise on the ground. Sims racked up 91 rushing yards on 19 carries against a formidable Minnesota defense.

Up next, Sims and the Huskers will go up against a shaky Colorado defense, which had its hands full in a high-scoring affair against TCU last Saturday. Nebraska will likely focus on their ground game to control the tempo, and Sims is expected to play a significant role in that strategy. Even if the Huskers fall behind in the second half, Sims has a knack for scrambling and gaining substantial yardage.

Given his performance, it’s reasonable to expect Sims to easily surpass 62.5 rushing yards and likely see another 20 or more carries in the game.

Colorado vs. Nebraska Predictions

The following is from Props.com analyst Justin Bales as one of his best college football bets of the week:

While it may seem like a risky bet, I’m convinced that Colorado is still undervalued. Both casual bettors and sharp analysts are backing them, with the majority of bets and money leaning towards Colorado at -3.

Last week, I wagered on Colorado at +20.5 against TCU, and they pulled off an outright win. While I didn’t see that coming, it indicates that they’re already in good form. Their offense is stellar, even if questions linger about their defense.

Nebraska, on the other hand, had a decent showing against Minnesota but once again demonstrated their inability to close out a game. Their offense lacked spark, and it’s unclear whether their defense was truly responsible for Minnesota’s offensive struggles.

I expect Nebraska to score more freely against Colorado’s defense than they have in the past. However, it’s doubtful that their offense can keep pace with Colorado’s.

An added advantage for Colorado is the home-field setting, where the altitude gives them a significant edge.
