The Eagles and Buccaneers are battling in the first game of the Monday Night Football doubleheader. Both teams are entering the game undefeated. However, it’s another shared trait influencing all three suggested Bucs vs. Eagles player props.

Monday Night Football Player Props: Week 3
Here’s a trio of Bucs vs. Eagles player props I like for Monday’s primetime matchup:
Jalen Hurts Over 235.5 Passing Yards (-114)
Jalen Hurts has averaged 232.15 passing yards in his previous 20 games, slightly lower than his yardage prop for tonight. However, the Eagles weren’t often pushed last year. They’ve also demonstrated a willingness to adjust their play calling based on the opponent, which is the primary reason for taking Hurts’s over tonight.
The Buccaneers are a pass-funnel defense. According to RotoViz’s pace app, Tampa Bay’s opponents have passed on 71% of their 93 plays in a neutral game script this year. The pass-leaning approach isn’t a two-sample blip, either. Since last year, teams have passed at a 59% clip in neutral game scripts against the Bucs, the seventh-highest mark during that stretch. Fortunately, Hurts has the weapons at his disposal to shred Tampa Bay’s secondary when he takes to the air.

Baker Mayfield Over 226.5 Passing Yards (-114)
Baker Mayfield isn’t in the same tier as Hurts. However, he’s making the most of his latest opportunity. He’s completed 69.1% of his passes, averaged 245.0 passing yards per game, and thrown zero interceptions.
Mayfield certainly deserves credit, but offensive coordinator Dave Canales is pushing the right buttons. Josh Norris and Colt McCoy discussed Tampa Bay’s offense and Canales’s superb playcalling on Underdog Fantasy’s Scheme program last week. So, Mayfield’s fast start shouldn’t be handwaved away.
The Bucs will likely ask a lot of Mayfield and his talented one-two punch of Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. Like the Buccaneers, the Eagles have a pass-funnel defense. Philadelphia’s opponents have passed on an NFL-high 72% of their 65 plays in a neutral game script this year.
As a result, Mac Jones and Kirk Cousins passed for 316 and 364 yards, respectively. Mayfield is unlikely to unload for over 300 passing yards tonight. Still, Philadelphia’s pass defense has struggled mightily, and Mayfield has played well. Thus, the over is the play.

Rachaad White Under 49.5 Rushing Yards (-114)
Philadelphia’s pass-funnel defense is suboptimal for Rachaad White’s rushing outlook. Furthermore, the Buccaneers are underdogs. So, they might be in a negative game script for a significant portion of the game, forcing them to pass to keep up.
The matchup is also lousy because the Eagles are stout against the run. According to The 33rd Team, running backs have averaged only 41.0 rushing yards per game at 2.9 yards per carry against the Eagles this season.
Moreover, White is an unexceptional runner. He’s produced only 3.6 yards per carry on 163 attempts in his career. And while he’s averaged 56.0 rushing yards per game this year in two victories, he’s averaged only 3.3 yards per carry. The volume of carries he’d need to best 49.5 rushing yards is unlikely to be awarded to him in tonight’s brutal matchup.
