Iowa State vs. TCU Predictions

Have both of these teams hit the proverbial wall? TCU has lost four of its last five games, including a trio of conference defeats against Oklahoma State, Kansas State, and Baylor respectively. If you recall, the Horned Frogs manhandled Kansas on the road last month (Jan. 21), but things have gone downhill since that point. TCU has lost all three road games since then, and now they’ll travel to face Iowa State in another tough road environment.

Iowa State has been an absolute buzzsaw at home this season, beating top teams like Baylor, Texas, and Kansas by double-digits in Ames. Then Saturday happened, and the Cyclones fell 64-56 at home against Oklahoma State. That marks Iowa State’s only home loss all season, and its record stands at 12-1 in that regard. So was that an outlier or a sign of things to come? Take note that Iowa State has lost four of its last five games, so the Cyclones haven’t exactly shown great form.

Having said all of that, it’s easier to believe that Iowa State will get back on track at home rather than TCU pulling off the road upset. As mentioned earlier, the Cyclones have been brilliant while playing in front of their home fans this season, and there’s a good chance the Oklahoma State loss was a blip on the radar. Let’s take the Cyclones to win and cover the spread.
