Chuba Hubbard UNDER 73.5 Rushing + Receiving Yards

Christian McCaffrey is out for the rest of the year. However, I don’t expect Chuba Hubbard to handle a workhorse workload. Instead, he’ll likely share backfield duties with Ameer Abdullah. Further, Cam Newton will take designed runs as well.

Hubbard has made five starts this year, going over 73.5 rushing plus receiving yards — which I’ll refer to as total yards the rest of the way — only two times. Now, Abdullah threatens the rookie’s playing time, namely in the passing attack.

Abdullah made his debut for the Carolina Panthers in Week 7, playing only special teams. In Week 8, he debuted on offense. According to Pro Football Focus, since Week 8, Abdullah has run 59 routes to only 22 for Hubbard. As a result, I’m skeptical of Hubbard getting enough work to surpass 73.5 total yards. Thankfully, Bet Prep is picking up what I’m putting down, projecting only 64.91 total yards.

Cordarrelle Patterson OVER 87.5 Rushing + Receiving Yards

Like Hubbard in this game, Cordarrelle Patterson isn’t a bell-cow. Nevertheless, head coach Arthur Smith has done a superb job unlocking C-Patt. The veteran star kickoff returner took a couple of weeks to carve out a more substantial role in the Atlanta Falcons’ offense.

Since Week 3, he’s played nine games. Patterson has eclipsed 87.5 total yards of offense in six of his last nine games. In addition, he exited early with an injury in one of the games in which he came up short. The matchup is good for Patterson on the ground. According to Football Outsiders, Carolina is 20th in rush defense Defense-adjusted Value Over Average (DVOA).

Moreover, Patterson — a converted receiver — is a threat to gain yardage in bunches through the air. Also, he’s game-script proof due to his well-rounded contributions. Therefore, Bet Prep projects Patterson for 90.09 total yards of offense.

Laviska Shenault UNDER 43.5 Receiving Yards

It doesn’t seem to matter how many injuries the Jacksonville Jaguars are dealt. Laviska Shenault is incapable of a sophomore breakout. Instead, he’s backsliding.

His single-game high for receiving yards in his last six games is only 50. Shenault has had 33 receiving yards or fewer in the other five contests. Yikes.

Remarkably, it gets worse for Shenault. According to Pro-Football-Reference, Shenault played a season-low 53% of Jacksonville’s offensive snaps in Week 13. Additionally, since Week 11, Shenault has run the third-most routes (78).

I don’t see any reason to expect a turnaround from Shenault. So, I’ll gleefully hop on his under. Further, Bet Prep agrees, projecting 39.22 receiving yards for Shenault against the Tennessee Titans.

Laquon Treadwell OVER 33.5 Receiving Yards

Laquon Treadwell is a large part of the reason for Shenault’s dip in playing time. The former first-round pick’s playing time has skyrocketed lately from 72% in Week 11, then 86% in Week 12, and 93% in Week 13.

In the previous three weeks, Treadwell has been second on the team in routes (87) and first in receiving yards (126). Understandably, Treadwell’s production has been climbing as he builds rapport with Trevor Lawrence. In Week 13, he set a season-high with 62 receiving yards. He has bested 50 receiving yards in back-to-back games.

Finally, the matchup is good for a third straight quality showing. The Titans are 19th in pass defense DVOA. In addition, they’re dreadful defending receivers. According to Pro-Football-Reference, the Titans have allowed the second-most receiving yards (2,380) to receivers this year.

Cole Beasley OVER 40.5 Receiving Yards

Sometimes, a matchup is tailor-made for a player. That’s the case with Cole Beasley against the predominantly zone defense of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Dwain McFarland of Pro Football Focus highlighted Beasley’s zone prowess on Twitter.

Going a step further, according to Pro Football Focus, out of 72 receivers, Beasley is tied for 26th in receiving yards (386) against zone coverage this year. In addition, beyond Beasley’s ability to beat zone, he’s attached to a pass-heavy up-tempo offense.

According to Sharp Football Stats, when the offensive scoring margin is between trailing by seven points and leading by seven points, the Buffalo Bills pass at the second-highest rate (67%). According to Football Outsiders, the Bills play at the ninth-fastest situation neutral pace.

Add it all up, and Beasley is a good bet to surpass 40.5 receiving yards. Finally, Bet Prep agrees, projecting 44.16 receiving yards.
