The same goes for Wisconsin and Providence. The leaders of the Big Ten and Big East will be supremely tested by second-place challengers Purdue and Villanova, respectively.

Tipoff/TV: 9 p.m. ET/ESPN
Purdue: 24-5 SU (13-5 Big Ten)/13-15-1 ATS
Wisconsin: 23-5 SU (14-4 Big Ten)/16-12 ATS
Spread/Total: Purdue -3/144

The Badgers are riding a four-game winning streak (3-1 ATS), including Saturday’s 66-61 victory over Rutgers as 2-point road ‘dogs. The first-place Badgers, who lead Purdue and Illinois by one game apiece, control their fate for the Big Ten crown. A win tonight in Madison would eliminate the Boilermakers from title consideration. Wisconsin hosts bottom-feeding Nebraska in Sunday’s regular-season finale. For, Purdue is 12th and Wisconsin 21st in the NCAA’s NET rankings and are locks for the NCAA Tournament. The Boilermakers are first in the Big Ten in assists (17.3 per game), field-goal shooting (50.6%), and 3-point shooting (39.9%).

Tipoff/TV: 6:30 p.m. ET/FS1
Providence: 24-3 SU (14-2 Big East)/16-11 ATS
Villanova: 21-7 SU (14-4 Big East)/14-12-2 ATS
Spread/Total: Villanova -9.5/134.5
Last meeting: On Feb. 15, Villanova beat Providence 89-84 as a 4-point road favorite, the Friars’ only loss since Jan. 4
Did you know: Prior to the Villanova defeat, Providence was 7-0 SU/ATS as an underdog

About Providence-Villanova: Technically, Providence has already clinched the Big East title. Due to three COVID-related cancellations, the Friars (14-2) will complete conference play with only 17 games and would still be percentage points ahead of Villanova (14-4) under any clinching scenario. In other words, it’s possible Villanova sweeps the season series against Providence, posts two more league wins, and still falls short of the Big East title. Villanova enters this game after a one-week break, following a 71-69 loss to Connecticut as a 2-point road pup. On Saturday, Providence crushed Creighton 72-51 while covering as 4.5-point home favorites. The Wildcats rank first in in the Big East in 3-point shooting (36.5%).

Notable Trends

  • Providence is 6-1 SU/5-1-1 ATS in Big East road games
  • Villanova is 3-7-1 ATS in its last 11 overall (2-4 ATS at home)
  • Over is 9-4 in Providence’s last 13 overall
  • Under is 7-3 in Villanova’s last 10 at home
