Stop the presses: Monday’s Best Bets went a perfect 3-0! Now, we aren’t going to take a victory lap like the Minnesota Timberwolves after winning a play-in game. But that’s not to say we may or may not have unleashed a few Tiger Woods’ vintage fist pumps in our living room.
So what do we have for an encore for Tuesday?
Well, speaking of the Timberwolves, our focus turns to one of the more entertaining matchups from the first round of the NBA playoffs. The ball should be zipping up and down the court in Game 5 of the Grizzlies-Timberwolves series, and we have a trio of Best Bets from that matchup.
Without further ado, let’s jump into Tuesday’s Best Bets!

From: Matt Perrault via The Bostonian Vs. The Book podcast
Matt Perrault of The Bostonian Vs. The Book podcast cashed his second straight Best Bet on Monday, as the Mavericks and Jazz stayed way under the 213-point total in a game that Dallas won 102-77. Perrault will try to make it 3-for-3 Tuesday night, as he’s siding with Memphis -6 over Minnesota in Game 5 of the best-of-7 series.
“This is a tough game to bet, but I’m riding it,” Perrault said.
Perrault noted that he likes the zigzag theory, believing Memphis will be energized at home following a disappointing 119-118 Game 4 loss.
Take note that Memphis won by 28 points at home in Game 2, followed by a 9-point road victory in Game 3. In other words, the Grizzlies haven’t been shy about putting their foot on the gas when things are going their way.
Back home at FedExForum, Perrault believes Memphis will be in the driver’s seat throughout Tuesday night. As for the point spread, two things are worth pointing out: First, the line has dipped from Grizzlies -7 to -6, so that move is in Perrault’s favor. Secondly, as mentioned in our Minnesota-Memphis Game 5 action report, the straight-up winner has covered the spread in 29 of the last 30 meetings between these teams — including the last 16 in a row.
Translation: If the Grizzlies win this game, it’s a near-lock they’re going to cover the number.
You can grab Memphis -6 right now at Caesars Sportsbook.
NBA Prop: C Karl-Anthony Towns (Minnesota Timberwolves)
The bet: Over 23.5 points (at Memphis)
The odds: -110
Where to bet: DraftKings Sportsbook
From: Matt LaMarca via NBA Props Tuesday
Towns has struggled at times this postseason. However, for the most part, those struggles are directly attributed to foul trouble. In the Timberwolves’ two wins, Towns averaged more than 42.5 minutes per game and scored at least 29 points in each contest. In Minnesota’s two losses, he’s averaged just 11.5 points in 30.4 minutes per game. Towns picked up five fouls in each of the two defeats, which explains the stark difference in playing time.
As long as Towns can stay out of foul trouble — hardly a guarantee, obviously — this number seems way too low. Towns averaged 24.6 points per game in 33.5 minutes during the regular season. So we know he can do some serious damage with more than 40 minutes of court time. Play the Over.

NBA Prop: G/F Anthony Edwards (Minnesota Timberwolves)
The bet: Over 3.5 made 3-pointers (at Memphis)
The odds: -105
Where to bet: PointsBet USA
From: BetPrep Prop of the Day via BetPrep.com
The folks at BetPrep cashed with Monday’s Best Bet on Toronto forward Pascal Siakam hurdling Over 5.5 assists in Game 5 against Philadelphia.
Tuesday’s BetPrep Prop of the Day involves a different series, different prop, and different player — but a lean in the same direction as Monday: Over 3.5 made 3-pointers for Timberwolves’ guard Anthony Edwards at Memphis.
The rationale for the BetPrep crew’s Best Bets selection:
- Edwards has recorded four-plus 3-pointers in each of his last five games, including the first four in this series against the Grizzlies.
- He’s made four or more 3-pointers in five of his last six road contests.
- Edwards has posted four-plus 3-pointers in six of his last seven when his team is an underdog.
The 231.5-point total that’s posted on betting boards for Game 5 suggests this should be another up-tempo, high-scoring affair. If it indeed turns out to be a track meet, Edwards will have plenty of chances to fire — and connect! — from deep.
You can find Edwards Over 3.5 made 3-pointers (-105) at PointsBet USA.
