Texas vs. Creighton Predictions

This is a clash in style, as Texas hangs its hat on playing tough basketball with a defensive-minded approach. Creighton is more of an offense-focused team that prides itself on getting open shots.

Both teams are ranked in the top ten, as Texas is currently No. 2 and Creighton is No. 7 in the latest AP Poll. Texas is 5-0 on the year with its most notable win coming in a home 93-74 rout against Gonzaga. Outside of that, the Longhorns have not played any other ranked teams or power conference opponents.

Creighton is a little more battle-tested, as the Bluejays beat Texas Tech and No. 11 Arkansas before losing 81-79 to No. 4 Arizona last week. Playing on the road in a tough atmosphere against a gritty Texas team will be difficult, but Creighton seems prepared for this test.

It’s hard to believe Texas will surprise Creighton in a similar fashion to its rout against Gonzaga. This is a tough spot for the Bluejays, but they are a talented team capable of keeping things close or even picking up the outright win.
