Here we go with the Ravens vs. Cardinals predictions and picks for Sunday Night Football of NFL Preseason Week 2.

The Ravens have been an absolute buzzsaw in the preseason (21 straight wins), which is why they are favored by nearly a touchdown. Will the trend continue, or will Arizona finally upend the preseason juggernaut?

Ravens vs. Cardinals Trends

Let’s take a look at some relevant betting trends for the Ravens vs. Cardinals as well as the NFL preseason in general:

  • The Ravens won their first preseason game 23-10 vs Tennessee.
  • The Cardinals won their first preseason game 36-21 at Cincinnati
  • Baltimore HC John Harbaugh is 41-12, including a 21-game winning streak in the preseason with the Ravens
  • Arizona HC Kliff Kingsbury is 3-4 in the preseason with the Cardinals
  • Underdogs are 53.7% against the spread in the NFL preseason in the previous ten years.
  • As of Saturday afternoon, DraftKings reports that 44% of tickets and 64% of the money are on the underdog Browns against the spread
  • DraftKings also reports that 30% of betting tickets and 72% of the handle have selected Under 38 total points.

No Top Players For Cardinals

We didn’t have QB Kyler Murray or Colt McCoy in last week’s game, and it looks like we won’t again on Sunday. Trace McSorley will get the start for the first half of this game with Jarrett Guarantano coming in later on.

These two are battling for that QB3 spot, and McSorely had the better performance in Week 1 with 163 passing and a touchdown while adding 43 yards on the ground.

The Cardinals will also likely rest most of their top skill position players. RB James Connor and Darrel Williams are respectively the top two backs, but the third spot is wide open. Rookie Keaontay Ingram was impressive in his debut, leading the charge with seven carries for 27 yards and a touchdown. He could earn that RB3 spot with another solid performance.

Ravens Resting Starters Too

Just like the Cards, the Ravens will also rest their starters. Tyler Huntley will likely get the start at QB as he should remain the backup for another year. Rookie QB Anthony Brown played most of the second half and looked good, leading the team with 115 yards.

There’s very little chance we see top RBs J.K. Dobbins or Gus Edwards in the preseason as they both recover from season-ending injuries sustained last year. Several backs are competing for that third spot in the backfield, including veterans Mike Davis and Corey Clement along with rookie Tyler Badie.

Ravens vs. Cardinals Prediction

Neither team will play their first units, but the Baltimore second and third strings performed very well last week. Does their preseason streak continue to 22-straight? I believe so.

Prediction 1: Ravens -6 | -110 at DraftKings Sportsbook

Each squad isn’t going to be sending out their best in this game, especially Arizona, as they’re starting their third and fourth QBs on the depth chart. The total has dipped from 41 to 38.5, but we saw both offenses play well last week, and each put points on the board.

Bettors are flocking to the Over, and it’s a great opportunity to take advantage of the dip.

Prediction 2: Over 38.5 total points | -110 at DraftKings Sportsbook
