No. 4 Dallas Mavericks vs No. 5 Utah Jazz (10 p.m. ET)

UPDATE 8:45 P.M. ET THURSDAY: With 75 minutes to go until tipoff, BetMGM Nevada has Dallas at -1.5, after opening Game 6 a pick ’em. And it’s all Mavericks at BetMGM’s Vegas operations, with point-spread ticket count 5/1 and money 6/1 on Dallas. The total rose from 209.5 to 210.5, but tickets and money are running fairly even.

UPDATE 10:30 P.M. ET WEDNESDAY: The Mavericks led 52-36 at halftime and never looked back in a 102-77 victory in Game 5 to take a 3-2 lead. Dallas was favored for the first time all series and covered -3 to move to 4-1 ATS in the series.

Mavericks star Luka Doncic had something to go with that favorite status, and he poured in 33 points with 13 rebounds in his second game back (first at home) since straining his left calf in the regular-season finale. Dallas’ dominance came despite the Mavericks shooting only 12-for-43 (27.9 percent) on 3-pointers, but that was still a lot better than Utah at 3-for-30 (10 percent).

The Mavericks are 8-1 ATS against Utah this season, though only 5-4 SU. The past two games have gone Under, which is 3-2 in the series.

Jazz star Donovan Mitchell injured his left hamstring late in Game 5, but he said he is “good to go” for Game 6. He mustered only nine points in Game 5, going 4-for-15 from the field and 0-for-7 on 3-pointers.

The Mavericks opened as 2.5-point favorites Tuesday at TwinSpires, but the line is down to pick’em with Mitchell set to play. Dallas is taking 55% of bets and 58% of money. The total opened at 209.5 and is up to 210, with 58% of bets on the Under but 62% of money on the Over. “Sharp play on Over 209.5,” Zachary Lucas, director of retail sports, said via email.
