Key Players On Both Sides

The Rays and Braves have been on a tear this season, with both teams consistently outperforming their competitors.

Tampa Bay, anchored by the phenomenal pitching of Zach Eflin and the offensive prowess of Yandy Diaz, have been an unstoppable force. Eflin, boasting an impressive 3.25 ERA and 0.99 WHIP, has been a nightmare for hitters, while Diaz 3rd best batting average in the league (.323) and 7th best OPS (.923) have consistently carried Tampa Bay to the win column.

Meanwhile, the Atlanta Braves have dominated with a blend of experienced veterans and rising stars.

Spencer Strider boasts an incredible 11-2 record with a 3.44 ERA, 166 strikeouts, and a 1.09 WHIP. He is a front-runner for the NL Cy Young award and doesn’t look to be slowing down any time soon. Ronald Acuna Jr. is another key to the Braves reaching the 100-win total. He sits in a similar position to Diaz as he is second in the majors with a .331 batting average and .990 OPS.

Will The Rays and Braves Both Record 100+ Wins?

Both the Rays and Braves have a favorable schedule for the remainder of the season, facing off against lower-ranked teams more times than not. Power Rankings Guru also has the Braves easily eclipsing this total as they have them projected for 103 wins. The Rays are just behind at 99 wins, which we can stretch to make the bet for them to reach 100.

Each of these teams’ strength of schedule on Power Rankings Guru speaks to their success as well. The Rays currently sit with the 8th toughest schedule, which isn’t encouraging in the grand scheme of things, but Tampa Bay’s dominant offense in addition to Tyler Glasnow and Taj Bradley outperforming expectations could help them overcome this.

Atlanta, on the other hand, has the 27th most difficult schedule left for the remainder of the season. The 100-win club is easy to back with this in mind.
