Dubbs Anderson, former PGA Tour caddy and host of the Props Golf podcast, cashed his top bet (Jordan Speith Top 10 finish) for last week’s Charles Schwab Challenge. Now he’s back with more best bets, props and sleeper picks for the Memorial Tournament, which starts Thursday.
In addition to this betting preview, Anderson will release an episode Friday in which he will offer his favorite wagering opportunities heading into the weekend.
With that, here are Dubbs’ top Memorial Tournament picks and best bets across the golf betting markets.
Odds updated as of 2:30 p.m. ET on May 31.
Memorial Tournament Picks
This week’s PGA Tour event will be played at the Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio. Patrick Cantlay has won the Memorial two of the last three years, with Spain’s Jon Rahm preventing a Cantlay three-peat with a victory in 2020. Those two golfers hold some of the best odds heading into the 2022 event.
As Dubbs noted on the podcast, Muirfield Village is a long course with fast greens, and the rough is not forgiving. Because of those elements, accuracy off the tee along with strokes gained on approach and strokes gained putting are the most important metrics to monitor as the week progresses toward Thursday’s first round.
The following are edited excerpts of Anderson’s analysis from his latest episode of Props Golf, which he hosts twice weekly.
Patrick Cantlay Outright Winner (+1700)
Best odds available: +1700 at FanDuel Sportsbook
Dubbs’ Take: Betting on Cantlay can be extremely frustrating at times. However, looking at his history on this course, it’s hard to not take a slice of this guy at 17/1 odds.
Having won this event in two of the past three years, Cantlay is clearly comfortable on this track. That important stats also are in his favor: He ranks 23rd in strokes gained off the tee, 34th in strokes gained around the greens, and 52nd in strokes gained putting. Translation: He doesn’t have a weakness.
So what’s the downside? Cantlay has failed in several big spots (particularly in major events) over the past year. That includes missing the cut his last time out at the PGA Championship. Will that serve as motivation for the Memorial Tournament? Or will those struggles carry over?
Again, when a PGA pro has won twice in three years on the same course, that history has to be taken into account. Expect him to settle in and show the form that put him on top of the leaderboard nearly a month ago at the Zurich Classic.
You can find Cantlay’s outright winner odds at +1700 at FanDuel Sportsbook, which is much better than +1000 at DraftKings.

Corey Conners Outright Winner (+6000)
Best odds available: +6000 at DraftKings Sportsbook
Dubbs’ Take: Conners has a local connection to the course, attending college at nearby Kent State.
He’s a solid golfer, but the main downside comes from a lack of wins on the PGA Tour. In fact, Conners has only finished first once in his career, and that was more than three years ago. Does he have that “killer instinct” to finish the job this week?
Corey Conners is due, @mrdubbsie says, and if the Canadian is going to bring one home, you should come along for the ride at 50/1, on Props Golf presented by @fliff. #ad

The talent and potential are certainly there for Conners. His next win is coming at some point, and this course plays to his strengths of driving accuracy (30th) and green hitting accuracy (11th). He’s also sixth in strokes gained off the tee, a metric that won’t hurt in this event.
You have to love the 60/1 value at DraftKings. That’s much better than 50/1 at FanDuel and BetMGM. Always shop for the best price!

Adam Scott Outright Winner (+8000)
Best odds available: +8000 at BetMGM Sportsbook
Dubbs’ Take: Scott has attended 13 events on this course. He’s made the cut 12 times. Most notably, he finished runner-up in the 2019 Memorial. And he has all the tools to make a push toward the top spot this time around.
Scott missed the cut at the PGA Championship, but we are probably seeing an odds discount because of that. Don’t forget, he has two top 10 finishes in 2022, showing glimpses of solid form.
We all know Scott can bomb it off the tee (ranks 16th in driving distance), but his putting has been solid as well (24th in shots gained putting). This is a course where he can put it all together, and the +8000 odds are far too long for a player of his caliber.
So where can you find those juicy +8000 odds? At BetMGM, which offers far better value than FanDuel (+6500) and DraftKings (+5000).
