Florida vs. Oregon State Predictions

Florida QB Anthony Richardson will not play in this game, as he has opted out. However, backup QB Jack Miller should be competent as a starter, and he’ll have the benefit of some extra practice with the first team.

On the other hand, Florida’s run defense will be the key to this game…for better or worse. Oregon State loves to run the ball, ranking 11th in run play percentage, 31st in yards per carry, and 26th in rushing yards per game. Compare that against a Florida defense that ranks 98th against the run.

Still, is that enough to warrant a double-digit spread? Florida has lost by 11 or more points just once this season, a 42-20 loss against No. 1 Georgia. The Gators should be able to keep this one close even without Richardson. If Florida’s run defense overachieves, then the Gators could contend for an outright win.
