Eagles vs. Browns Trends
Let’s take a look at some relevant betting trends for the Eagles vs. Browns as well as the NFL preseason in general:
- The Browns won their first preseason game 24-13 at Jacksonville.
- The Eagles lost their first preseason game 24-21 at New York (A).
- Philadelphia HC Nick Sirianni is 0-3 in the preseason with the Eagles.
- Cleveland HC Kevin Stefanski is 4-0 in the preseason with the Browns
- Underdogs are 53.7% against the spread in the NFL preseason in the previous ten years.
- As of Saturday afternoon, DraftKings reports that 58% of tickets and 46% of the money are on the underdog Browns against the spread
- DraftKings also reports that 28% of betting tickets and 70% of the handle have selected Under 38 total points.
Eagles Starters: Status Unknown?
Head coach Nick Sirianni has not discussed who will play this week or how much. If we see QB Jalen Hurts and the first unit, it will likely be for just one series.
QB Gardner Minshew had the backup role last week, and the veteran is likely to play for most of the first half this time around.
Hurts and AJ Brown were big fans of this fake from @GardnerMinshew5. 😅

The question is will we see UDFA Carson Strong get in this game and try to compete for that QB3 spot? Reid Sinnett finished off the game last week without Strong seeing the field. If we don’t see any of the starters, Strong could make it into the game.
No First Unit For Browns
With the final suspension of Deshaun Watson coming down, this means QB Jacoby Brissett will be the starter for the first 11 games. Brissett didn’t play in the first preseason game, allowing Josh Dobbs to be the primary backup last week with Watson starting. We should expect Dobbs to go with the second unit, followed by Josh Rosen.

The Browns would still like to see how their new receiver corps will play out. Former Cowboy Amari Cooper has that WR1 locked with Donovan Peoples-Jones and rookie David Bell rounding out the top three. However, there will be other spots to be won in the backup roles.
Eagles vs. Browns Prediction
The Browns are in turmoil with all the news surrounding the team this week. They’ve already announced their starters won’t see any time, and even if the Eagles’ first unit doesn’t play much, they still have more momentum heading into this week.
Prediction 1: Eagles -2.5 | -110 at DraftKings Sportsbook
The total of 35.5 is a very low number. When this game came out with an initial 41 total, the bettors went heavy on the Under. We’re not sure how much the first unit will play if at all, so even as the total dipped, I still like the Under even though it has been steamed down.
Prediction 2: Under 35.5 | -110 at DraftKings Sportsbook
