Thursday Night Football Props: Week 17
Here’s a trio of Browns vs. Jets player props I like for Thursday’s primetime matchup:
Jerome Ford Under 46.5 Rushing Yards (-115)
Joe Flacco was inserted as Cleveland’s starting quarterback in Week 13. According to RotoViz’s pace app, the Browns have had a 64% situation-neutral pass rate in Flacco’s starts. Furthermore, they had a 63% situation-neutral pass rate when leading by at least six points.
Cleveland’s passing tendencies are suboptimal for Jerome Ford’s rushing potential. The second-year pro had over 46.5 rushing yards in only one of his previous four games, averaging just 28.8 rushing yards per game, with a median of 22.5. He also had 2.5 yards per carry in three of those games.
Ford hasn’t dominated the backfield’s rushing opportunities, either. His 44 rush attempts since Week 13 were only 48.9% of Cleveland’s backfield’s rushing opportunities. Ford’s committee gig will make it challenging to eclipse 46.5 rushing yards.
The Jets also won’t make it easy. According to The 33rd Team, running backs have averaged only 84 rushing yards per game and 3.6 yards per carry against the Jets in their last four games. Thus, Ford’s under for 46.5 rushing yards is a sweet bet.

Breece Hall Over 31.5 Receiving Yards (-110)
Despite dreadful options at quarterback, the Jets have leaned on their passing attack. Since Week 13, the Jets have had a 64% situation-neutral pass rate. Their preferred offensive attack is ideal for this matchup since the Browns have faced a 66% situation-neutral pass rate (tied for the second-highest in the NFL) since Week 13.
The Jets have few passing-game weapons, but Breece Hall fits the bill. In fact, he was the top option for Trevor Siemian in Week 16, pacing the Jets in targets (16), receptions (nine) and receiving yards (96).
He should have another busy day for the underdog Jets in a decent matchup. Running backs have averaged 5.0 receptions per game and 35 receiving yards per game against the Jets in their last four games.
One way the Jets can combat the fearsome duo of Myles Garrett and Za’Darius Smith is to utilize Hall on screens and in the short passing game. Regardless, Hall should be heavily involved since he’s one of only two legitimate weapons in New York’s offense.

Tyler Conklin Over 3.5 Receptions (+115)
Tyler Conklin isn’t a special player by any stretch of the imagination. Still, per Pro-Football-Reference, Conklin has averaged 3.6 receptions per game this season, with a median of 4.0.
Conklin has had over 3.5 receptions in nine of 15 games this year. He’s had precisely four receptions in each of the previous two games. In addition, the Browns have allowed 7.0 receptions per game to tight ends since Week 13. Getting a plus line for him to have over 3.5 receptions is alluring.
