The Jets and Chargers will close the book on Week 9’s action tonight. The game’s spread is slight, and the total is low. New York’s defense is elite, but they’ve been slightly giving in two areas that make a pair of overs for the Chargers exciting bets. Conversely, Gang Green’s do-it-all back should shine in one facet tonight, making one of his overs an appealing bet.

Let’s dive into the Jets vs. Chargers player props below.

Monday Night Football Player Props: Week 9

Here’s a trio of Jets vs. Chargers player props I like for Monday’s primetime matchup:

Justin Herbert Over 8.5 Rushing Yards (-120)

The most significant concern for Justin Herbert’s rushing outlook is the fractured finger on his non-throwing hand. However, he ran for 20 yards in one of the three games since he hurt the digit.

Herbert averages 11.6 rushing yards per game, with a median of 11 this year. He’s rushed for more than 8.5 yards four times in seven contests.

Fortunately, Herbert has an outstanding matchup for this prop. According to The 33rd Team, eight quarterbacks have surpassed 8.5 rushing yards against the Jets. The Jets had their bye in Week 7. So, more quarterbacks have eclipsed 8.5 rushing yards against the Jets than they have games played.

Austin Ekeler Over 30.5 Receiving Yards (-110)

Austin Ekeler hasn’t had much success on the ground this season. Yet, he’s still an asset in the passing attack, averaging 44.3 receiving yards per game, with a median of 41.0 in four games this season.

Ekeler could have a larger role in the passing game, with Joshua Palmer placed on Injured Reserve on Sunday. The matchup is stellar for Ekeler’s receiving potential, too. Since Week 4, the Jets have allowed 6.25 receptions per game and 50.0 rushing yards per game to running backs. Finally, the Jets have allowed four running backs to exceed 30.5 receiving yards in seven contests.

Breece Hall Over 17.5 Receiving Yards (-135)

Breece Hall was eased into action this year and fully unleashed lately. The speedy sophomore averages 27.0 receiving yards per game this season.

Hall was his most productive as a receiver in his two most recent games, amassing 54 receiving yards in Week 6 and 76 in Week 8. According to Pro Football Focus (PFF), Hall was second on the Jets in targets (19), receptions (17), and receiving yards (160) in the previous four games. Hall is a crucial piece in New York’s offense, and they’re getting him the ball as a receiver in addition to his rushing responsibilities.

Finally, the matchup is ideal for Hall’s receiving potential. The Chargers have allowed 6.75 receptions per game and 68.25 receiving yards per game since Week 4. They’ve also coughed up over 17.5 receiving yards to seven running backs in seven games.
