We begin the second half of the NFL season in Miami with a South Florida-sized feast of potential NFL player props to bet. These are our favorites for this Thursday night showdown.
Lamar Jackson – Over 320.5 Total Yards
The only thing that might stop Lamar Jackson from going over 320 total yards is that Baltimore gets out to a big lead and then takes its foot off the gas. It happened in the Ravens’ 34-6 win over the Chargers, and Jackson finished with just 218 yards (167 passing and 51 rushings).
Other than that game, his overs have made for very profitable NFL player props.
His total yards after Sunday’s game are 386, 345, 218, 504, 344, 345, 346, and 321. That’s only once in eight games that he has failed to get over 320 yards in total offense.
Jackson is quietly putting together another MVP-calibre season, and he is the reason the Ravens are in a position to battle for the AFC’s top seed. He’s also the reason that you can win your first prop bet of Week 10.
Take this over. The Dolphins’ defense will not slow him down.
Myles Gaskin – Under 50.5 Rushing Yards
The Dolphins want to get Myles Gaskin involved in their offense. They want it so badly that on Sunday against the Texans, and he carried the ball 20 times.
But the reason we’re taking the under on this bet is that up to this point, the Dolphins are terrible at getting Gaskin involved in the offense. With those 20 carries, he had 34 yards. That’s right, against the awful Houston Texans, he averaged 1.7 yards per carrying.
We might consider it an outlier, but it isn’t. This is how it has been for the Miami running game, and the week before, Gaskin had 36 yards against the Bills. He did have 67 against the Falcons, but that followed games of three yards, 25 yards, and nine yards. He has three times this season averaged less than 2.0 yards per carrying.
The Ravens will get out to a lead, the Dolphins will abandon the run, and Gaskin’s numbers will be further suppressed. Roll with this under.
Marquise Brown – Over 70.5 Receiving Yards
Early in Lamar Jackson’s career, the big knock against the Ravens offense was the lack of a top wide receiver who could stretch the field. That is no longer an issue as Hollywood Brown continues to enjoy a breakout season in Baltimore.
Last week he had 116 yards receiving, following up 80 yards against the Bengals. Two weeks before that, he had 125 yards against the Colts. There are also games of 91 against the Broncos and 113 against the Chiefs.
It was feast or famine with Brown initially. Now he is a consistent presence in the passing game, and he’s become Jackson’s primary wide receiver.
This season 10 different wide receivers have gone over 70 yards against the Dolphins, and Thursday night Brown will make it 11.
