Halloween weekend is here, and several quarterback prop bets look like delicious potential treats. Let’s dive into these NFL betting opportunities for Week 8.
Jameis Winston – Over 234.5 Passing Yards
At the beginning of the season, the small yardage games for Jameis Winston have been replaced by solid numbers three weeks in a row. He’s thrown for 222, 279, and 226 over that stretch.
Yes, two of those three games were below his line this week, but none of those games were played against his former team, the Buccaneers. He will have to pass the ball more than usual to keep up with Tom Brady, and he will get to do it against a banged-up and bad secondary. Even Jacoby Brissett threw for 275 yards against Tampa Bay.
Look for Winston to have a big yardage day and get over 250 yards, making this over one of the best bets on Sunday.
Sam Darnold – Over 252.5 Passing Yards
Panthers quarterback Sam Darnold is another one who doesn’t seem like an obvious overbet, having gone under this total in each of the last three weeks, and in the case of last week’s 111 yards, sometimes severely under.
But he did have a pair of 300 yards before that, and this week he gets a bad Falcons defense that was just manhandled by the Dolphins’ troubled offense. If ever there was a get-right game, this is it.
Atlanta gave up 291 passing yards to Tua Tagovailoa, 290 yards to Taylor Heinicke, and 266 yards to Daniel Jones. The Panthers passing offense can easily find similar success, putting Darnold over for the game.
Ryan Tannehill – Under 245.5 Passing Yards
Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill is coming off a 270-yard performance against the Chiefs, but two significant factors were at play there. Kansas City is terrible against the pass, and Derrick Henry was shut down for most of the game. He averaged just 2.9 yards per carrying, leaving longer third downs than average and more yards for Tannehill.
That won’t be the case against the Colts this week. Henry should be back to his usual All-Pro self, which means that the opportunities for Tannehill to pick up yards will become considerably fewer. As he did in the big win over the Bills, Tannehill will finish with less than 225 yards passing.

Ben Roethlisberger – Under 250.5 Passing Yards
Ben Roethlisberger has thrown for less than 250 yards in two of his last three games, and in this weekend’s rivalry game against the Browns, it will happen again.
Despite the Browns’ struggles this season, they still have done an excellent job defending the pass, giving up 187 yards to Teddy Bridgewater and 229 yards to Kyler Murray in their last two games. Plus, they have had ten days to prepare for Pittsburgh, which will make Roethlisberger’s task even harder.
This will be one of the lowest-scoring games of the week, making this under the much better play.
