Purdue vs. Penn State Predictions

You pretty much know what you are getting with Purdue. They will play solid basketball in all facets of the game while dominating the paint and the glass. That especially holds true with big man Zach Edey in form, as he’s fresh off a cool 38 point and 13 rebound performance in a blowout of Michigan State on Sunday.

Penn State is one of those teams that usually plays much better at home. That’s not going to help in this tough road trip to West Lafayette. Also, the Nittany Lions have had trouble on the glass at times this season, and that was the story in a recent 20 point loss to Rutgers. Now, Penn State has to face a Purdue team that ranks first overall in rebound rate, while the Nittany Lions are 264th in that regard.

The Boilermakers already beat Penn State 76-63 on the road this season, and there’s not much keeping them from repeating that at home. Purdue is on a roll, and Penn State is ill-equipped to slow the Boilermakers down.
