LSU vs. Florida Basketball Prediction

LSU stands at 12-3 on the season, although that record could be misleading due to a soft non-conference schedule. However, the Tigers have proven that they can play with quality teams. LSU lost 61-59 to No. 11 Kansas State in November, and the Tigers beat No. 15 Arkansas on Dec. 28.

On the other side, Florida has lost four of its last six games. Granted, most of them came against quality opponents like No. 6 UConn, No. 21 Auburn, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma. Still, the Gators have not been great on the road this season while LSU is undefeated at home after that recent upset against Arkansas.

If we look at the trends, under 137.5 is appealing in this matchup. Florida has gone under the total in six of its last seven, while LSU is 5-2-1 to the under in its last eight games. Both of these squads are better on defense than offense, and LSU is going to try and grind this game down with a slower pace of play.

As for picking a winner, LSU seems like the best bet at home. Aside from Saturday’s game at Texas A&M, the Tigers have risen to the occasion every time they have played a Power Five opponent this season. Pair that with Florida’s woes outside of Gainsville this season and LSU should come away with a conference victory.
