Jake Paul vs. Anderson Silva Betting Preview
Jake Paul’s toughest test in the ring will come on Saturday. His opponent, Silva, is coming off wins over Julio Ceaser Chavez Jr and Tito Ortiz. Still, at 47 years old I question the durability of “The Spider” coming into this fight. In his most recent interviews, Silva mentioned he’d been knocked out twice during sparring. Then you consider all the years of MMA, being hit by 4 oz gloves, and all the damage he’s endured over the course of his career. That’s impossible to ignore.
Jake Paul has flexed his right-hand power in recent fights. He’s fresh off a brutal knockout victory over former UFC Welterweight champion Tyron Woodley. Paul’s cardio has been tested in the past with a decision victory over Woodley, showing that he’s more than just a Youtube Boxer. Say what you want about him, but Paul is training with some of the best boxers and mentors in the world. There’s no doubt he has put hard work into this camp.
We’ve seen Silva’s elusiveness in the past. Defensively, Silva is one of the best in the world even at the old age of 47. He remains one of the hardest people to hit inside the Octagon and boxing ring. However, I view Silva taking this fight as more of a cash grab than a competitive bout. Look for him to avoid getting knocked out and taking a decision loss as a moral victory.
Jake Paul vs. Anderson Silva Prediction
We should see a lot of volume and output from Paul and not much in return from Silva. In the end, I see Silva landing a few shots but nothing of major significance.
I’m looking to bet this fight somewhat differently than others. Jake Paul by decision is currently +175 at DraftKings. I think he’s going to coast to a decision victory in a bout where Silva is hesitant to let his hands go.
