Earlier this summer, Seattle Seahawks wideout DK Metcalf failed in his attempt to qualify for the U.S. Olympic team in the 100-meter dash. However, based on action related to the NFL most receiving yards prop, some believe Metcalf is more than capable of running away with the 2021-22 receiving yardage title.
Not only is Metcalf getting a lot of attention in the NFL wide receiver player prop market, but bettors also are targeting his Seahawks teammate, Tyler Lockett.
With the regular season kicking off next week, Props.com takes a deeper look at the betting odds for most receiving yards.

Odds via BetMGM Nevada as of September 2, 2021.
Most Popular Bet: DK Metcalf
Metcalf became a household name with a spectacular play during the 2020 season. He chased down Arizona Cardinals safety Budda Baker and made a touchdown-saving tackle after Baker intercepted a pass, sprinted alone down the sideline and appeared destined for an easy pick-six. But that impressive play on a Sunday night in front of a national audience was just one highlight among many for Metcalf during an impressive sophomore season.
The 6-foot-4 speedster ranked seventh in 2020 with 1,303 receiving yards—and with an additional 105 yards, he would’ve climbed to third. Bettors who have gotten involved in the NFL receiving yardage prop at BetMGM Nevada certainly like Metcalf’s chances to take another big leap forward this season.
While Buffalo Bills wide receiver and 2020 receiving yardage champ Stefon Diggs is the co-favorite with the Cardinals’ DeAndre Hopkins at +800 odds, Metcalf (+1,400) has been the most popular choice among BetMGM Nevada players.
“Metcalf leads the way for us in terms of most tickets written,” said BetMGM Nevada’s Scott Shelton, adding that second-year Minnesota Vikings wideout Justin Jefferson (also +1,400) ranks second in ticket count, followed by Diggs and Kansas City Chiefs receiver Tyreke Hill (+1,000).
Mike Williams & Jerry Jeudy As Longshots?
NFL receiving yardage prop bettors looking to score a big payday are zeroing in on three specific long shots: Mike Williams of the Los Angeles Chargers and Jerry Jeudy of the Denver Broncos (both +8,000), and the Jacksonville Jaguars’ DJ Chark (+10,000).
None of those wideouts finished among the top 25 in receiving yards last year, but one who did was Lockett, who ranked 17th with 1,006 yards. Entering his eighth NFL season, Lockett (+5,000) is the one receiver who won’t have any fans behind the BetMGM Nevada counter this season.
“He is our biggest liability,” Shelton said. “Even though we’ve seen more action on guys like Metcalf and Jefferson, if Lockett ends up cashing, he’ll hurt us the most.”
